:rotfl: at the lunches. That's the sort of thing I would do. But it's good to aim high ;) Glad you had a good night out with your friends. I wouldn't be so keen on the hangover these days but would definitely enjoy the chip butty - I have mine with curry sauce as well.

You've got lots of figures listed down so you must be more on top of things than you think. But I agree, it's the bits here and there that soon mount up and before you know it £20 or more has slipped through your fingers

Have you set up your Easter break and holiday pot yet? Maybe if you get those in place so you can see the actual cash growing for something really nice for you all it might inspire you to put your money there instead of spending it in the shops. Everybody is different though, you just have to find something that works for you which I'm sure you'll do.

Have a good week at work. Still smiling about your lunch calculations :) xx
  • Good morning Tea

Oh what am I like I actually worked out that I never do more than 12 days in the month in the office !! How I got to 15 I will never know !

I’m too old for hangovers now it was the young ones at work getting the tequilas in !! I must remember I’m not 25 anymore ha x
Yes I am going to set up some pots which will be Easter and my holidays I am also thinking about one for a new hoover and also to repair my phone which I dropped on New Year’s Eve so it now not in the best shape screen wise I was gutted too as its only 3 months old and I have never done that before !!

I also by accident threw £60 in the bin on Thursday and I was in a panic but retrieved it then I realised the £106 I flittered away this month what would I have felt just throwing the money in the bin as I may have well just have done !! Food for thought

Have a lovely day it’s a lovely day here in Yorkshire sun is shining x

    Take care

Finally on my way home it’s been a long day due to not sleeping very well I am hungry too so looking forward to my tea. Looking forward to an early night and I am determined to read my book and not go through my phone or watch the iPad past 8pm. My sleep quality is shocking and I think it’s one of the reasons.

    Enjoy the rest of Monday

And in a flash Tuesday is done ...

    NSD 5/15
    Lunch to work 4/9
    Bank Account £21.25
    Cash £20.00
    Steps: 18,584
    Water: 1.5ltrs

I have just only sat down since getting home from work, I went for a walk with the dog after tea to get some excercise and fresh air which was nice.

There will be spends tomorrow I have lunch out and also need to get a Valentine’s Day card for OH.

I have increased my childcare voucher payment which has started from
This pay so need to adjust my budget to balance the books. I am only about £7 less but still it needs to come from where. I also need to update my spreadsheet to keep track of the spends and payments for after school club and holiday club.

That’s it nothing much going on

    Best wishes

I like your lists NMC. Just something as simple as jotting the same headers down every day has been a big help to keeping me on track. I tend to waffle on my daily posts but if I'm pushed for time it would be really easy to just update a few figures from the list I posted the day before. Which is my waffling way of saying keep at it and if you can keep up with your daily tally. xx
  • Thanks Tea I am trying to structure it so I can keep tabs. I waffle but I do think it helps clear the mind too. I am determined to keep up with my daily tally, I even wrote my spends in my notebook so I wouldn't forget :-)

  • Evening Wednesday

    NSD 5/15
    Lunch to work 4/9
    Bank Account £21.25
    Cash £10.00
    Steps: 13,109
    Water: 2ltrs

As planned it was a spend day today

    Lunch - £4.95
2 litre Bottle of Water - £0.50 (please don't judge the water at work is vile - its always luke warm)
    Raffle Ticket - £1
Valentines and Birthday Cards - £3.47
    Total £9.92

I took £10 with me so putting the 8p in my 1p savings challenge tin.

I have also used a b$$ts voucher I got for my birthday and birthday money to get some nice face products. I have enough body butter, shower gel and hand cream to keep me going which I got at Christmas and my birthday.

I need to get a grip and start savings and have targets so here goes:

    Emergency Fund - £0/£500
    Holiday in August - £0/£2000
    Easter Break - £0/£200
Repair mobile phone screen - £0 / £need to get quote

Big targets but something to work towards and challenge myself. Its going to be quite tough for a spend thrift like me resetting my brain to save instead of spend, saving is not something I do well, but at 44 its time to grow up.

I already budget for my hair, I reduced getting it done from every 6 weeks to 8 but I have short hair so can't go any longer or it looks dreadful.

Tomorrow should be a NSD, Friday is payday and I have to get my euros for Dublin, sisters birthday present, friends birthday present, pooch's grooming, fabric conditioner, strawberries and grapes.

Saturday I have plans to meet friends for a coffee for an hour, Sunday its my turn for food shop so cash will be leaving my purse once more. I budget £200 per month for food (this is my share - £100 per week) I refuse to take the kids and OH food shopping as it ends up twice as much and mainly shop at Al$i. This also includes dog food, laundry, cleaning products, toiletries etc... Lets see if I can shave some off this month and get started with my savings, although I don't want to shave off too much then end up with too many top up shops.

    Think its bedtime for me.

    Night all
    Best wishes

Looking forward to seeing your numbers grow for your savings targets. Always think it's good to see them written down in black and white. Trust me, once you get those first amounts in your pots saving can become as addictive as spending :)

I'm with you on not taking family shopping. I do mine on line so I keep within budget quite well by knocking stuff off if I go over. DD is the worst. She used to throw loads of stuff in the trolley that she fancied. It was like taking a goat shopping with me. :rotfl: Thankfully it's probably a twice a year event at most.

    Have a good day. xx
