  • Happy Friday x

I missed updating yesterday the day went so fast and was here and there taking the girls to school, rainbows, brownies but got lots of fresh air and steps in on the fitbit so all good.

I did have a NSD yesterday so that is 6/15, so glad I did as it was more spendy today.

I did have a productive domesticated day though so pleased with that lots of washing and ironing done and did some cleaning (more to do but there always is!).

    Today's spends:

    Coffee - £2
Flowers for my friend (get well gift) - £4.50
M0rri$ons - £4.20 it did come to £14.20 but i had £10 to redeem with the points, I bought a birthday cake for OH, cucumber, bread, milk, garden peas and a chocolate treat for the girls, paracetamol and turkey rashers) so not too bad. Total Spend £10.70 so basically that is all the cash in my purse gone but expected.

That takes my total remaining to £36.30 which is all sat in my account. We are out for birthday tea on Sunday and I will draw the £30.00 out and leave the £6.30 in my bank.

I am hoping for a NSD tomorrow but will be some spends Sunday.

I also got a voucher for a free chocolate bar from M0rrib0bs as it my birthday on Monday so that will be a nice free treat.

My budget for next payday has been reviewed to take into consideration rainbows and brownies fees, also a school trip for my youngest and 2 parties she has been invited to (3 presents to buy as one is a joint one).

I have a refund pending in paypal of £20.00 so once cleared is going straight to N3xt.

Online shop done for delivery on Sunday tea time, breakfast, lunch and dinners planned.

Looking forward to payday on Tuesday 4 sleeps and spa break 6 sleeps!!!!

    Better update my signature

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend x

  • Good morning Thursday

The last few days have run away with me and I have been wanting to get onto my diary all week and get things down. Had a part productive and relaxing weekend - I was brutal with my clothes, bags, accessories and had a good sort out which resulted in 5 bags to the charity shop and a wardrobe all organised. I have enough toiletries to last me at least 2 months and body butter for the next 20 years!!!

I had a NSD on Saturday and Monday. Sunday I spend £30 as we went out for our birthdays (OH was Sunday mine was Monday). So I went into payday with £6.30 left in my account.

I had such a lovely day I am lucky, I was so spoilt with birthday money, vouchers, prosecco, prosecco and and more prosecco !!!! a new coat, gloves and lots of other lovely things. I needed some new foundation and bronzer and have spent £10 of my birthday money on that. I only buy make up now when I have run out and use both everyday so quite pleased with that.

Tuesday was payday and I withdrew my £130 entertainment budget for the month - a rather spending day - I thought I had lunch at work this was not the case - so £4.55 spend on lunch, £4.60 on my train ticket, £1 on sanitary wear and £6 to works lottery syndicate. £10 for school trip and £16 on 3 presents for 2 parties (one is a joint party) I had budgeted for the school trip and presents separately. Oh and the window cleaner grabbed me just as I was walking through the door £10 there phew.

I paid £300 off my mum debt and £22.55 off next - After my declutter I decided to return an item that I have ordered in the sale between christmas and new year I just do not need it. Added to 1p savings challenges so ahead with that - Updated signature accordingly.

Yesterday didn't fair any better, we had a meeting at work as there is a restructure so lots of unrest but I am pulling up my positive pants and know things will work out in the end it will be a hard view months but what will be will be.

We went for a walk and then an unplanned lunch afterwards it was lovely and we all got to have a nice chat away from the office however, that resulted in a £5.55 spend there and then £1.85 on drink and chocolate bar. I have all the receipts.

I have withdrawn the money for my spa break, I budgeted this separately and have bought yesterday out of this some snacks and cans of gin (very classy) going to take some other drinks which we have left over from Christmas. I don't want to be paying hotel prices all the time !!

Phew I am so glad I have wrote this all down now

Goals for this coming month are to
    Update diary more frequently
    Meal Plan
    Continue to track spends
    TAKE LUNCH TO WORK !
LEAVE PURSE AND HOME wherever possible

Hopefully I will get chance to check in whilst I am away - keep me on the straight and narrow

Enough with my ramblings ... I am off to balance my accounts, get the girls and me ready and to school, finishing packing, trip to the charity shop, pick up some milk, hoover, washing in and polish all before being picked up at 9.45am lets see if I can do this !!

    Wishing everyone a lovely Thursday.

Hi there, nothing to say about your cash planning you seem to be doing extremely well. However, if I can make 1 suggestion that may help.
You say you work part time..do you earn enough to pay tax?
Are you married and if so is your husband a basic rate tax payer.

If these apply then you can apply for married tax allowance, which will mean your husband will pay £200 a year less tax, which can be backdated..if this comes off he can give you £16 a month towards the window cleaner☺

    Hope this helps,

Morning NMC and a Belated Happy Birthday to you and OH :bdaycake:

Even though it's been a bit spendy I bet you feel better for knowing where it's all gone don't you. And some things you can look back on and think that was worth it. It's not about spending nothing, it's about knowing what you've spent it on - that's what I tell myself anyway :D

Hope the work situation isn't too stressful for you. I always think it's not knowing what's happening that's the worst bit of anything like that.

I wouldn't mind how the G&T came tbh as long as I didn't have to pay hotel prices - good thinking ahead there :T

    Have a lovely day. x

    Hi Tea

Thank you for your lovely message we have a great time and didn't spend as much as I thought I would we had lots of fun eating and drinking in the hotel room and thoroughly relaxed.

The hotel prices weren't as pricey as we thought they would be but still saved lots taking my trusty 12 pack of gin & tins in the can. You can't say that I am not classy. I also took some snacks as well and they went down a treat. xx

  • Happy Friday touch of snow here in Yorkshire today

This is going to be a long post

I need to confess my sins and just write this down (it has been swirling around in my head all week) NO EXCUSES the last week in particular has not only been busy with work and general life but spendy, spendy and more spendy. There said it out loud -

Its been a good month considering its January overall but uncertain times, there is a restructure at work and we find out in April if we have a job or need to be interviewed or redundancy so uncertain times but I am looking at all my options and cracking on as normal. I can't change anything at this time so will wait and see.

I have been getting in a twist not been able to get on to my diary but no time like to present to reset and start again. January I ended up with 8 NSD and 8 Lunch to work so didn't meet my targets. These have been reset for February for 15 NSD and 15 Lunch to work.

I have been working various hours with work and not getting home till late so this has impacted on my organisational skills and not planning properly. Bought too many lunches and general NONSENSE i.e. chocolate, fizzy drinks (too many to count), 2 two takeaways, 2 magazines, 2 school dresses my oldest wont stop growing (but least I can hand them down to youngest)!

Anyhoo I haven't been tracking my spending as well as I could but with coming back from my spa break with money I have the grand total of £130 to last me until 15th February.

My oldest little ladies bedroom was still the curtains we had when my youngest was a toddler, so we bought her some curtains, bedding, lamp and this was via my Next account but will be paid off on payday. Not ideal but she has waited so patiently since at least October. I am more so mad that if I hadn't spend on NONSENSE this could have been paid at least half immediately. I also messed up on the curtains, went to get them "sorted" at an additional £11 and turned out I didnt need to. I am just useless with soft furnishings I thought I was doing it right turns out I wasn't and should of left it to other half and/or my mum ! Anyway the room looks lovely and she is so happy with it.

We are going on a walk tomorrow with friends and a pub lunch. Next Friday I am out with work for a couple of G&T's.

Today my little lady has a friend coming for tea so I have been to Morribobs to get them a nice pizza, snacks and I promised my LL I would get a chocolate cake for pudding. I also got some milk, fresh chicken and stir Fry, chicken slices, quorn mince and quorn grills which were on offer and finally some green tea which I had run out of. On top of my pilates class I have spent £ 30.46.

I have bought myself some bra's from M&S but this is with my birthday money and I got a £5 off a pack of 2. I have 3 bra's to my name 1 nude, 1 black and 1 black/gold (my strapless ones just hurt so I don't count them!) and my favorite one (nude one) the wire has broke and was digging into me so took the opportunity.

    Targets for February and actions
15 No SPEND Days - leave debit card at home, buy train tickets weekly not daily
15 Lunch to Work - ensure lunches are part of meal plan and weekly shop - batch cook as much as can and plan
    15,000 steps per day
    DECHOX
    Track budget
    Track spends
Track food (except for when in Dublin)
    Report to MSE diary daily
    No unneccesary spends
    Pilates (at least 3 times)
    Clubbercise (at least 3 times

    Planned Events
Walk and pub lunch tomorrow - "part of entertainment spends"
Out with work on next Friday - part of "entertainment spends"
Trip to Dublin for my friends 30th half term - budgeted for
My Little Ladies birthday - budgeted for with other half
Sisters birthday present - budgeted for
Brothers birthday present - budgeted for
    Friends birthday x 3 - budgeted for
Friends kids birthday x 2 - budgeted for
18th Birthday party - part of "entertainment spends" will drive as day after return from Dublin so no excuse to stay off the gin that evening - will need a gift too

Feels so good to get that all down and out of my head

My to do list today is

    Have lunch
    Track spends
    Track bank account
    Tidy, Polish, hoover all rooms
    Clean bathrooms and downstairs toilets
    2 loads of washing
    Plan breakfast, lunch and teas
    Do food shopping list
    Fridge and Freezer literary
Take out Chicken from freezer for tomorrows tea (slow cooker chicken curry)

Better get started before school run

    Stay safe and warm
    Best wishes
