    On a final note...

Good job my OH went away at the weekend as he looked at the girls passports and they expired in June :-( didn't even twig that it was this year). So Saturday was a £20 of my spends to pay for photos and OH had the pleasure of £98 for the passports today but we did these online it was so easy too. So glad we didn't just reach for the passports the night before going away.

I also found 41p on the train today - so popped that in my house savings pot which I need to have another count up and update.

Off to do my budget now ....

    Best wishes

Hi NMC :) There is always something isn't there. Reading diaries it's lots of different things for different people but the theme is generally the same. If only we'd not had to spend on ....... :o It is frustrating when you're trying to make progress but as long as you're not going backwards the tide will eventually turn.

Thank goodness you did check the passports  I've always wondered why they only last 5 years for children. We took DD on holiday as a baby so the photo was pretty much useless after a few months and having a 10 year one wouldn't have made any difference to how she looked

Well done on the 3 peaks and for raising money for charity :T Have you another challenge in the pipeline or is that it for the time being.

    Have a great week. xx

    Thanks Tea xx

I couldn't believe it, applied on line and my friend has verified our "existence" so I need to send the expired passports back and fingers crossed they come back. I bet they are 5 year ones again but should coincide with my next renewal.

I am getting a bit restless not having another challenge organised so I have been researching something for next year. I actually started researching two days after finishing the 3 peaks !!!! Surprised myself

You have a lovely week too xx

    Good evening Tuesday

Well I did it I had a NSD!!!!! Wonders will never cease and another lunch to work today too.

I forgot yesterday that to report my spends, consistency as it very clear is not my strong point !

Tomorrow I need to send the girls expired passports to the passport office so will be a spend unfortunately but its important they go asap.

    Monday spends are as follows:

    Beetroot - 80p
    Drink - £1.00
    Multipack of crisps - £1.00
    Total £2.80

I have sorted my budget for the month - it is going to be tight, discussed with OH what we need for the holidays and things coming up and both agreed it needs to be a strict few weeks on the run up to the holiday.

I have ordered some potential items for the holiday in the N3xt sale but I have also put aside some money in my budget for this and don't want to keep everything, If I have to wear some things twice then so be it, I don't have the money or inclination to spend on 14 different outfits.

I am still fighting the devil which keeps telling me to check my credit card every 5 mins to see if there are any balance transfer offers but so far the good guy has won every argument and subsequently dismissed it. ITS NOT WORTH IT

I will be posting my plan of action for the next few weeks and I am going to try to update everyday however, life does get in the way and not always possible so not going to beat myself up about it if I don't, I just want to be consistent and sometimes that is harder.

Have a lovely rest of Tuesday
    Best wishes

Well done on the NSD & lunch to work.
Thank goodness you discovered the passport issue now, could’ve been so much worse.
Wishing you luck with your plan of action x
  • Thanks Dancing, fingers crossed they come back asap so I can sleep ! Last time we applied for our passports was 2014 and there was a strike with passport staff. I applied 6 weeks in advance as everyone said it would take a week or two - fast forward a trip to the passport office in Durham the day before our holiday to pick mine and the girls up ! You think I would have learnt or at least made a note somewhere !!

    Take care

  • Evening Wednesday

    Lunch to work - 3/11

Not a NSD today as anticipated. I had to send off girls expired passports and slipped a couple of other things in whilst it was a spend day....

    Postage for passports - £4.52
    Bottle of pepsi - £0.50
    Bottle of water - £0.55
Foundation, eye shadow and blending sponge for holiday - £3.00
    Rice cakes £0.50
    Sweets - £1.00
    Pain killers £0.60

    Total - £10.67

Nothing else much to report didn't finish work until 6.30pm, came home had tea, tided up, hoovered, polished, and cleaned kitchen worktops, mopped kitchen floor and put wash in.

Tomorrow I am working from home and its my short day, we need some things to take us through the rest of the week so off to pick those up after school run but OH is paying. Girls have rainbows and brownies so its a quick turnaround on a Thursday tea time.

I need to do some ironing and write down the rest of the things needed for holiday and try just take stock at what we already have.

Steady weekend ahead which will involve a trip to the hairdressers so a bit of expense but not much left in the pot so a cheap one it is then !!!

Payday in 5 sleeps woo hoo ...

    Best wishes

    Hello Thursday

I have managed a NSD today so that is 2/10

Worked from home so had lunch at home.

Had confirmation that one of the expired passports has been received and the application is being processed, fingers cross we hear something about the other one tomorrow.

My youngest is at Rainbows and jst popping here for 10 mins whilst we await to set off to take oldest to to her brownie unicorn party. My pooch is at the vets he is not good my old boy, hes having lots of accidents, his back legs keep giving way and hes very anxious, particularly when we leave him but his tail is still wagging and he still has an appetite anyway will see what they say.

Tea in oven, hoovered and cleaned downstairs, wash on and will tackle upstairs and ironing tomorrow.

    4 sleeps till payday...

    Best take oldest to Brownies

    Best wishes
