    Nope

They hide your internet activitys is what users think they do .

You can pretend to be in a different country .
They can slow your connection a bit or a lot .

Just something that became rather fashionable last year ,for people that dont actually need them .
Want to log in to Netflix USA then a VPN can route you through a connection in Texas as opposed to UK .
  • Never had an issue with Kodi and never used a VPN.

Ok i didn't hammer Kodi like many others but i still got my use out of it.

Haven't used it in a long time now since it just stopped working like it once did.

  • How much do I pay?

    SFA!
  • Express VPN, IPVanish, NordVPN, VyprVPN, Hotspot Shield, Cyber Ghost, Windscribe. These are paid VPNs. Before, I have been using the Google plugin - HOXX, but recently it didn't work anymore.

I read the comments above about Opera before writing this so I am not so sure about using it any more. I have not found it slowed me down at all but it sometimes thinks Sweden is in Asia when I am trying to buy something on ebay.

Anyway how do people cope when they want to buy anything when you have a VPN?

I suppose it is as easy to use a different browser as it is to switch it on and off all the time.

Terry98, my vpn is on permanently, Most sites work fine including ebay and amazon.

The troublesome ones are youtube ('this content is not available in your country') and mse, as you cant always post from some countries or connect. The second most troublesome one is gmail, connecting from one country and then a different country within a few hours does throw up flags, but after answering the security question you are good.

Amazon and ebay are fine, just watch the postage rates. Some of ebays sellers sales are sometimes tied to certain countries, but is generally not that noticeable. Never had a problem with paypal

Most vpns share their endpoint address with their other subscribers. If one of the subscribers is doing something naughty, then that ip address sometimes becomes banned for a certain time, or the vpn shuts down the path and you end up reconnecting to another server

Even if you have a VPN, there is no gaurantee you'll still be able to use it to bypass filters for services such as Netflix. They are actively blocking known VPN address' so you could use NordVPN and connect to a US server one day and it work fine, then the next day Netflix has stuck a ban on that address so Netflix no longer works when going through that US server.

But anyway. NordVPN is OK and so is AirVPN.
