    Morning folks.

Still dark outside though the air is milder than yesterday so I'm less reluctant to get up and dressed.

SO - https://edu.gcfglobal.org/en/excel2016/ for basic spreadsheets training.

Tru - would having Scamp's coat on upside down be a stupid idea? Two coats, one on top and one underneath? I've never had dogs so have no idea!

I'm expecting my new chair later today, hopefully late morning if the roads are clear so will be hanging around the house. There's some 'stuff' which I could usefully work through and clear out.

I hope everyone is doing well or getting better. Happy Friday to all.
  • Good morning everyone,

Yesterday was a bit full on as I had the gym in the morning followed by my first day back at work (never gets easier) then home to make an overly complicated dinner, tidy up and out to play football 9-10. By the time I get home, showered and in bed, I'm still wide awake. So I had a poor nights sleep.

This, in turn, meant I've decided against the gym this morning and I'll go afterwards instead. Something much simpler for dinner should mean a bit more relaxation.

My friends over on the NSD Challenge thread have inspired me (thanks CCL if you're reading) to write quite a comprehensive to-do list for January. You know, those niggly things you never get round to doing. It's growing arms and legs and there's a lot more than I thought. I'm looking forward to ticking them all off and getting it off my mind.

TA - I was going to protest and defend my fellow men about how un-observant we are, but you do have a point haha!
Organza - What a day you had indeed. I do hope that today is a bit better. Did he get the phone back.?
SO - Google will be able to give you step-by-step instructions, but there's perhaps a thread on here somewhere where someones done the same from a budgeting perspective?

    Morning everyone,

Heavy frost here, the grass is all crispy and white, looks beautiful but glad my DOH took the little dog out for her first walk of the day, bbbrr. I did reward him with scrambled eggs on toast though.
Housework first and then I will take a trip out to the farm shop for a few bits, have a hankering for toad in the hole for tea so need to pick up some of their nice sausages.
Princess pony was a little diamond yesterday and, despite having time off, behaved impeccably on the lunge, will see how I feel later and maybe have a little sit on.
TRU small dog has a waterproof fleece but that too doesn’t cover her tum, she’s fine as quite hairy but perhaps a onesie type thing would suit Scampi, would he tolerate that?
    Enjoy your trip TA
Thinking of Holly, hope all went well.
Hugs to all poorlies or those worried about loved ones, take care folks x

Good morning everyone, nice to see Nelski and Speky back and hoping that Holly's being well looked after, and taff following her results. dp1 I hope your daughter is okay, and thinking of polly too.

OL, never mind asking for time out on your own, just claim it, your mental health is important!

I'm living very quietly just now, but yesterday I did go to see a friend who's visiting from abroad. Unfortunately she's had the tenant from hell in her house over here who has trashed the house (let out after she couldn't find a buyer in the 2008 recession). I wonder how Hester's getting on after the trouble she's had with her tenant?

I had a veg delivery on Sunday, felt sorry for the delivery guy as not the normal day. So I've leeks and carrots to make into soup, and some great looking red cabbage to braise. My table top silver LED Christmas tree will get packed away this evening.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. Wrap up warm, it's cold outside! xxx

    Thank you
Problem is I'm getting a bit old to learn new things :D so it needs to be very simple to understand, but you never know I might surprise myself.

Poppy, taff and Holly I'm thinking of you and of any other poorlies and carers.

TA, enjoy your day out, we didn't manage to really get out in the Dales over the last few days because Steve did't feel up to it. I managed a few walks up into the hills with the dog - the lane that leads up into the National Park is only 5 minutes from the house. It's great because it's a fully enclosed lane so I can safely let Ziggy off without worrying about sheep. She would probably want to play with them and scare them half to death if she could get to them.

OL I don't think you're being unreasonable wanting youngest to meet her elsewhere for a first date, it's not as if they've been chatting online if they met through Tinder.

Steve has gone to play golf with Chris, brr so I have a bit of peace. I need to take Ziggy out and then do a bit of cleaning although I see Steve vacuumed the living room last night.

Laura rang to let me know that she'd been injured dog-sledding the day before! She hadn't told me at the time because she didn't want me to worry! Upshot was that the sled had tipped over and her head had hit a tree! Anyway she was checked out and had a lazy day yesterday and was fine, luckily her neck seems to be ok as well.

I want to get my meal plan sorted for the blood sugar diet today and make up a shopping list. Steve will eat the same meals but with added carbs and I shall get him some treats that I don't like but he does, like digestive biscuits. I might start tomorrow instead of waiting till Monday if I can get myself organised.

    Morning all,

    Thinking of you all.

Been up since 5.30 am attempting to knit a sock .... a few dropped stitches a long the way, and a couple of purl rows which should have been garter, who knew that on the round you don’t need to purl for stocking stitch! Crochet seems much easier to me, but I know I felt all fingers and thumbs initially with crochet too, so I shall persevere. (I did start a sock sometime ago which seemed to go much more smoothly, but I lost the pattern in the house move, so this time I am using a pattern I found online.)

Enough about my knitting, don’t wish to bore you all.

Plans for today are to visit parents, do their shopping, cleaning and then relax with playing scrabble with mum. We both enjoy it, and it is a fun way to keep mum’s brain working after her stroke (plus helps my brain too!)

Then home, then out tonight to see niece as it’s her birthday.

    Take care all.

There used to be a ready to go spreadsheet on

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/Budget-planning/ I can't see much on my tablet though there should be a link to download the template.

A very simple spreadsheet is just money in / out with calculating done. It's not too difficult.

Silver-oldie even I can do a spreadsheet so it will be a doddle for you, you just have to practise a bit and get used to the way they behave.

OL please don't thump me but why are you asking for a break rather than telling?

It's really cold here now and I've succumbed to the siren call of central heating. Need to get my thermal socks.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

TA enjoy your day out you live in such a beautiful area of the country

OL this weekend apparently is sunshine Saturday when more holidays are booked than any other day. Reading your post it struck me that if anyone needs a good long break its you your gang give you so much stress :( Hope today is better and if not get those brochures out :)

Made the mistake of leaving the heating on last night so woke up with a sweat on ...wondered why my dreams were a little hot :D Off again now and will stay off for a while to normalise the temp.

Get your worlds smallest violins out folks as I have sad news...my nose and lips are peeling ....:o that didn't last long then :D Its not a great look and drinking tea is a bit painful today.

Managed to source a tagine last night just a small one from lakeland which should be ideal size wise for me. I have some recipes lined up so hoping it arrives by the weekend.

Todays plans are more washing ...this will take a while with all the drying .. redruby can i use your dryer please? Glad you changed it though that sounds dangerous. Asda arriving with some supplies and tonight Ill do something normalish .....maybe liver and mash :D

No news from Holly yet but will let you know if I hear

    Take care all :A
