This month my mortgage has finally dipped below £60,000. I’m really proud of myself! For the first time it feels real that I might actually manage this. I couldn’t have got this far without the support and advice of you lovely lot. I’ve started a mortgage free diary to keep myself on track, and will be money saving as much as I can to make the dream a reality. It’s getting closer!

#14 reporting in. Not reported since September as I had to take some money from the mortgage. I'm now back on track with a balance of $509,999. I'm hoping that next time I will be in the $499's. Hope that everyone is safe and well x2

Hope everyone is staying safe in these strange times!#6 reporting in, the mortgage is now down to £699, with £49,208 paid off since the start of MFiT-T5. I'm now treading water until the early redemption fee expires in early June and i'm done - just two regular monthly payments of a touch under £300 in May and June (plus an obsessive tiny overpayment to bring the mortgage to a nice round number afterwards!), then a final overpayment to wrap up any residual interest and close the damn thing. So by next update I'll be done
Monthly interest is now around £2 a month - when I started in 2006 it was a bit over £30 a day!
