What is goldenpaste please?
It's a mix of turmeric and black pepper (and oil to make the paste and facilitate effective absorption))that can have very positive affects on people with arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. If you google it you will bring up loads of info. You can make it yourself or buy it online ready made.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Thank you, I should have thought of turmeric as I know it is said to be good for inflammation. It's not difficult!

I didn't quite finish the work in before I left at 1.30 to go and see the artwork/design work that the guy is working on and wants me to help with.
Basically he needs me to make clothes as cheaply as possible out of the fabric he has had printed, but he wants them to be as minimal as possible. Bit smaller sizes and more "sexy" as sex sells he said! Erm right. Depending on the age bracket you are pitching at. But he doesn't actually want a range of clothes to sell, he is just trying to tell a story with his artwork. However I see so many possible things with it. But today is just a quick remake of some of the designs I have done already just in a smaller size. Difficult as he does really get the sizes of the models he is using. He also wants pieces of the fabric left to cover a seat when they are sitting on a prop he has. Unfortunately for me my dreams were full of the fabric and designs, and I have been drifting in and out of sleep with his dots everywhere. I nearly got up at 5.45 to start sketching (even though I cannot draw!) I may have to let my inner designer back out of the box because I was at least dreaming of art/fashion and not nightmares.
Today I am in the shop on my own so it is going to be difficult to get things cut out as I won't be able to use the workshop tables. Too far away from the customers. I have a zip still too put in the coat. It wasn't unpicked before I left so I did all the other jobs. However when I left we hadn't had any new jobs in, so the rush job for the artist is at least possible!
Biggest came over yesterday and brought the baby. She was due to teach a dance class but the school double booked the hall so her class had been cancelled. But as I had Cover in the shop and she had the time it was good to see them without rushing. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I left the zip for Staff to do on Monday. I did the shop and the makes. But I did get a few fittings and alterations through the door that will help Monday and Tuesday when staff is in. I may be able to do more makes though as not really enough work for two of us.
I have emailed the landlord to tell him that I am not renewing the lease this year.
The news has been put on Facebook by someone I don't know, so I hope that's not why the work has reduced.
Dgd had a fall on the way to school again, and was rather shaken. Not the best start to the day.

The lease finishes 31st August, but I will have to try to sell off my stock, extra machines, furniture etc that I will not be using and probably build my garden office in that time, so a lot to do while still paying the rent and sewing. Although I suppose now that it is all over gossip page it may loose me customers who think I am closing means it's imminent or that I am not as good as I am.

Hi
Can you counter to gossip page, with a statement strongly worded, regarding you are business as usual and relocating in the future, not closing down. Add some photos of your work and a list of work you can take on.

Yes, I asked to join one group yesterday to do just that when a friend told me it was on there.
I suppose it is enevitable that people will gossip, but also as some of my customers only come twice a year I need to let them know what is happening. Keep them in the loop.
It's just a little annoying because of the way they worded it it looked as if I was closing soon rather than 6 plus months away.
Mind you some days I wish it was sooner just because I feel rather deflated about it all, but I know that I need that time to transition from here to home.

If you wish it was sooner, have you carefully read your lease agreement?
Some of them have a break clause in them at 6 months, yours 'might' have in which case you could be out sooner, but I do understand that you have stock / fabric / equipment etc to move.
Might it be cheaper to hire a storage space for 6 months (ie yellow box or similar) keep the fabric etc there and get it when you need it working from home.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I would have to reread it etc, but at the moment I will be fine.
Landlord has answered my email wishing me well, and said that he understood that I needed a profit, and that I had brought a vibrancy to the town. That was nice, but he has also not argued about anything. We will see.
The artist came back to collect his dresses, and he has also listened to me, as he has today decided that making as many clothes out of the fabric he already has and after his photo shoots actually sell the clothes aimed at the festival market. Now that is something that I am interested in, and could combine my Upcycling with the design fabrics. So I might actually have an outlet for my creative streak yet.
He went straight back home and brought me in more fabrics to turn into what ever I like. I have brought it home so I can have a bit of a play tomorrow evening.
We had quite a few new jobs in, so at least we now have work for the Seamstress for Monday and Tuesday now. Phew. I was getting nervous. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
