:naughty:That's very naughty of you bubbs .

About the only syns I have in meals are for gravy and sauces!

TTD, you really shouldn't be going without syns. They're part of the plan and there to be used. Especially as men are generally given extra syns, you're seriously under. We all have to prioritise and it doesn't matter whether they're in meals but do try to have more. If your wife is having the low syn meals with you, is she having syns as treats?

Our dinner was lush tonight and syn free. For anyone who hasn't tried them, cauliflower steaks are gorgeous. We have them as a side but they'd be good for veggies too. Cut 2 thick slices from the widest part of the cauliflower, spray with dry light and then sprinkle with seasoning and spices. I use garlic salt and paprika. They take about the same amount of time to bake as chips.

Usually fish and chips but last week we had them with burgers. They'd be good with gammon too. :)

  • WI went ok its a 2lb loss this week for me, 1lb for my wife, she made a confession that she had a bakery premade made baguette and 2 packets of monster munch crisps on the weekend without me knowing, and said she thinks she could have had more of a loss if she had resisted temptation. I told her not to worry about it, she had a loss and that what matters and we'll both do a SAS log this week and write down our meals on our white board in the kitchen so were keeping track.

Maman I'm not using the 2 HEXA's regularly. Like a lot who are more used to the old plan, if I have a bit extra milk in a day, or fancy a sprinkle of cheese on pasta then I count it as a 2nd HEXA, otherwise I stick with the usual one. It's nice to have that bit of flexibility, but I'm loathe to get too used to it daily in case I get used to over-indulging in them.

TTD great loss for you and your wife, and shows that despite some induIgence you can still lose. I think I'm quite the opposite from you with syns, and like others have said, that's the lovely flexibility of the SW plan that it can adapt to each person's personal taste. I prefer to have little bits of 'normality' in my meals, so that means gravy, salad dressings, a splash of cream in an americano coffee. I am trying to be more aware of my trigger foods too. I know what I struggle to control my eating around, so that means having to seriously limit my intake of breads and refined, sweet carbs. They make me bloated, cause cravings, and I struggle to stop eating them once I start. However, if I try to avoid them, I get out of the routine of relying on them as easy meals, eg. toast for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which I've been known to do regularly.

    Meal plan today:
    B - banana & apple
L - porridge HEXB, sugar (1) splash of milk from HEXA
D - roast chicken, SW roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage & peas, gravy (2)
snack - tangerine, Aldi cappuccino sugar-free sweet 0.5 (is that the right syns for those?) am aware they can have a laxative effect, but tasted nice.

On an MSE note, we shopped in Aldi this weekend rather than Lidl, and they seem to be a bit cheaper. Got a trolley piled high with food for the family, including meat, a few low cal ping meals, lots of fruit, tins of tuna, milk for the week, etc. and it came to £89. Very impressed.

As for this thread on the forum, it is one of the loveliest I've known on MSE. Years ago there used to be a much nicer vibe on the forums, but I have to say there seem to be plenty of regular keyboard warriors elsewhere on the forums who seem to delight in judging, disbelieving, and nit-picking posters who seem to genuinely be looking for some support. One reason why I only ever contribute here now.

Well done, losers. Surprisingly, I’m joining you with a loss of 1.6lbs, probably earned last week and my torpor treats will catch up next time so I’ll have to make a better effort this week.

Kathryn, when I was teaching, I had responsibility for children with special needs, including physical issues. The way things were as far as inclusion was concerned, was that if a child had an ongoing condition (not temporary) then class activities/events had to be planned in which they could participate, with support where appropriate. If someone was incapacitated thanks to a broken leg caused by a fall rather than an underlying condition, then no additional support need be provided. Fortunately for me, over several years, I didn’t have to manage anything in this area.

    Night all.
