Some brilliant losses tonight. Delighted for you all. :A:T:T:T

Agree with this, well done everyone!
I always think it's so difficult in cold weather when you crave heavier food.
    Well that's my excuse.

    Morning all.
    Off for porridge....
curl girl with a space - even though there is no space in my cupboard!!!
  • Morning. You are all doing well with the weight loss - well done.
I think MAMAN has shared her lurgy with me, feeling grotty!
Not sure what the result of my weigh in will be as I have to confess to a "shortbread incident" it wasn't pretty but it was delicious lol.
    Today should look like this
B weetabix and strawbs (a and b choice)
    L veg soup
D pasta with tomato and chilli sauce - will Syn some Parmesan if I fancy it.
Snacks/syns hifi bars, banana, a medicinal whisky
Have a lovely day, it's bright and sunny here and the snow has gone crunchy. Off to walk the pooches and then I can wallow in my misery with the test match.

Well done on your loses Sirens and Sarah.

New week for me after last night's shocking loss. I was disappointed last with with the size of gain so I think I have balanced myself out.
Determined for a good week and I am fully planned. Now just need to stick to the plan :)

    Today's plan :
Breakfast - bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomatoes
    Lunch - ramen
    Dinner - tuna pasta bake
    Snacks - fruit, jelly

    HAs - milk and cheese
HB - sesame seeds and bread
    Syns - jelly (0.5), miso (0.5)
    Zebras rock
  • bubbles....You should try cous cous.....You can get it dried in packets in various flavours or buy it plain and make your own flavourings....Good to have with salads etc...Probably not everyones cup of tea but if you cook it right....Just lovely...:)

Just to add tonight's meal was so easy and quick to make.

It is the easiest thing in the world to "cook", but it can go so wrong :(
A smile costs little but creates much :)

    .

Sometimes I feel winter is harder, but then chilies and stews are easy and good.
I find summer harder. Love salad, but dressings can be lethal and I love ice cream :)

  • Morning all! Too many losses to keep up with but some really big ones - well done everyone! I'm looking on track for 2lbs this week hopefully (I know it's a bad habit to weigh every day but it's motivating me to stay on plan when I see the number going down by 1/8 lb each day).
bubbles....You should try cous cous.....You can get it dried in packets in various flavours or buy it plain and make your own flavourings....Good to have with salads etc...Probably not everyones cup of tea but if you cook it right....Just lovely...:)

Seconded, couscous is a fab alternative to pasta or rice. Just pour boiling water over til it only just covers the couscous, cover, leave for 15 mins, then fluff with a fork - perfect when I'm having a portion of frozen curry or something for tea as it's no cooking required. I often add it to roast veg for packed lunches, or add to a salad to bulk it out a bit. I never bother flavouring it but I imagine a veg oxo cube would do the trick nicely.

    Today:
    B - None
    D - Cinnamon porridge
T - Chicken, red onion, mushrooms and tomatoes with brown rice
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Oats
Syns - Sugar in coffee and porridge (5), hot chocolate (2) = 7
    Exercise - C25K Week 3 Run 2

Hope everyone's keeping warm! Sending virtual vitamin C to those who need it! xx

Wow, even more losses since I posted last night. Well done sarah and bozwood.:T

Apologies for spreading my germs around the thread midge.:o I haven't tried shortbread as a cold cure. Maybe I'll just stick with the Lemsip as it's only half a syn!:rotfl:

Absolutely no problem having hearty, filling food on SW curlgirl. You only need to look at bubbs' amazing dinners to see that. Two of my favourites are chicken or beef casserole which are only 1 syn for the cornflour to thicken. I just pack them out with Speed veg to balance the filling potatoes.

I think my cold is improving a bit but taste still hasn't returned. It's really odd just eating stuff that I know is low syn and healthy but can't taste other than a slight difference between sweet and sour.:(

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, 2 boiled eggs, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham, LO fried beg, beetroot
D: pork burger, SW chips, cauli steak, green stuff (broccoli and asparagus), onions, mushrooms and tomatoes
Syns: 2? for burger as it wasn't 5% pork although I'll drain/pat as much fat off as possible

Quiet on here today, so I'll have to talk to myself.:D

Went to Tesco but LM sausages all sold out.:(

While I was in that part of town I went to Home Bargains for butter beans and they have mixed beans too for 29p. These are great for chilli con carne but also for chilli sin carne (meat free and veggie). Even if you don't think veggie's OK for main meals, it's worth making for putting on a JP at lunchtime or having with couscous or rice. I follow/adapt the same Hairy Biker chilli recipe
    http://www.hairybikers.com/recipes/view/chilli-con-carne
but leave out the meat including the beef stock as I'm not a veggie and I like the flavour. Then I put in extra beans (any varieties) and veg (carrots, mushrooms, peppers, celery, courgettes) to up the Speed.

Also went to Sainsbury's and got some YS 5% mince. As I'm out of HM burgers I'll make some for the freezer. I need to look up some recipes as I've not made any in ages. :)
  • I've been to the shops too Maman, stood in the sausage aisle in M&S for ages with the syns app open :D Got the skinny pork and the cumberland chipolatas which are 1 and 0.5 syn each respectively IIRC. 20 sausages for £5 all in all, I hope they're as nice as whatever the M&S ones were my grandma fed me a few weeks ago. I think it's the cold weather making me crave them, I'm not normally a massive fan of a sausage. Also got some YS salmon fillets, 8 for £5 so they'll do nicely for the freezer.

Also finally found a desk chair that was just what I've been looking for for months in TK Maxx - that's not SW related, I'm just chuffed!
