bubbs is right about the bananas and the same applies to grapes (and some other fruits). I'm not saying don't eat them but don't eat them instead of Speed.

I rarely have Speed at breakfast unless it's a full English with mushrooms and tomatoes or overnight oats with berries. I tend to look at my Speed across a day now and make sure I aim for 50% at lunch and dinner to up the day's average. Sometimes I'll eat some fruit mid morning or as an evening snack (I like an apple chopped into some cottage cheese) just to keep the Speed topped up. I'm convinced that enough Speed and planning are the two most important parts of SW.:)

I bought some YS celeriac today. I've had it in restaurants both cooked and as remoulade but never done it myself. It'll appear on a menu this week.:)

beanie, my DH would agree with you re sugar free Irn Bru, ha ha. I heard on the radio this week about the woman who has stockpiled original recipe Irn Bru and is now selling it for £4 per can!!!!!

    Hello, Kim kim.

    Well done, gtq.

That dinner is so colourful, bubbs. Well done – again – as usual!

I was going to be so good at lunch today and I have good news. I had chosen the veg penne pasta which is really good, except today it had far too much garlic. I love garlic but this was overwhelming, so I left half of my meal :A But there’s bad news, that left me hungry still and with a horrible taste in my mouth, so I had sticky toffee pudding to counteract this. My friend did the same. The best laid plans o’ mice and me(n) gang aft agley!

    Ah well there’s always tomorrow.

Thanks everyone. Trying my best to not get disheartened and will keep on going.

Me and my children play a game called, Would you rather... and my 10 year old asked me yesterday, Would you rather have to eat really unhealthily for the rest of your life or eat really healthily for the rest of your life? (think I was trying to persuade her to eat peas at the time) and I honestly (not just for her benefit) said, healthily. Because after a while eating parp makes you feel parp in general whereas eating healthily doesn’t.

Hoping this will help get me through the bad times!

I have semi planned my weekend for when I don’t have my girls.

I never eat breakfast. I tried and just felt too full for lunch, so even though you are meant to, I’m just not a breakfast person.

Lunches will be pizza made from a wrap or an omelette with a yog and my usual hula hoop puffs. Oh and pineapple salsa or salady type things.

Dinners will be either sw chicken tikka masala which I am making tomorrow (will freeze some), tetes carbonara or some rump steak I got cheap with wedges and veggies. Is steak Syn Free?

Snacks are tea and my usual alpen bar before bed.

Have managed a second Friday off the booze and again surprised at how easy it was when I am in the zone. It is just a habit after all!

Oh and I graduated C25K today!!!! 4.2km in 30 minutes! Love it and hoping I have created a lifelong habit!

  • Because after a while eating parp makes you feel parp in general whereas eating healthily doesn’t.

So true - some days over Christmas I woke up feeling hungover even without having had a drink.

Well done on completing C25K!! Have you thought about trying Parkrun on a Saturday morning?

WI this morning for me with a 2lb loss taking me to 15st exactly - silly me is a bit miffed because I had a sneaky peek yesterday and was 14-something, so to see that 15 was a bit disappointing, but I will carry on and make that the last time I see a 15 on the scales!

PSA: Hasselback potatoes in the airfryer are delicious!! The skins are all crispy but the insides so creamy and delicious, I had to stop myself going back in the kitchen and making another batch straight after my tea last night. They do look a bit like big woodlice but if you can get past that they're amazing!

I have a friend coming for lunch today so I'm making them again to go with a SC chilli I made yesterday - I added way too much liquid to it like a numbskull so I've got the lid off now trying to reduce it down a bit.

    Today:
B - Porridge with blueberries and cinnamon
D - Hasselback potatoes, SC chilli, salad (leaves, carrot, cucumber, cherry tomatoes)
T - Not sure yet as that's quite a big dinner, maybe just a bit more chilli and salad (no potatoes) if I'm hungry
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Oats
Syns - Sugar in coffee and porridge (5), not really sure..! Even though it's weigh day so traditionally my cheat day, I don't actually fancy going off the rails :o

    Have a great weekend everyone!
