I got to lunch and I didn't really feel hungry...Which, is the reason I came on here to ask about rather than tell you all about my day...:D.. I would never miss my breakfast because I think its a good start to the day to give a boost to the body first thing and not snack when suddenly feeling hungry. But, if not feeling hungry at a meal time is it ok to skip a meal or better just to eat a small amount even though not feeling hungry....Any thoughts on this please....? I did eat but now feeling uncomfortable for it...
.
I felt the same today. I can't face breakfast first thing, so have it mid-morning. I had a bowl of porridge at my desk at about 10:45am, which is when I finally can face eating and feeling peckish. The problem was that by lunchtime I really wasn't hungry. I also made myself have something, just because I was at work, and knew it wouldn't be easy to get to eat this afternoon once I started working again. I'm fortunate that I can eat at my desk if I want to, and fine if you're picking at a sandwich say, but I was having soup! At least it was light, and I had that at about 2pm. I am actually trying to listen more to my body, and try to eat when I do feel hungry, then stop eating when I am feeling satisfied - not full. It's how I tend to think naturally slim people eat. I grew up in a house where we had big meals, and everyone cleared their plates, so my conditioning was waste not want not.
Maybe just try listening to what you body wants, but don't get over-hungry?
Interestingly, our consultant recommended new joiners to ban their favourite treats (like chocolate or cheese) completely for the first week or so. Her reasoning was that if you can't trust yourself to stop don't have any, use your syns to enhance meals then slowly reintroduce your treats when you've built up some willpower by seeing what you can lose. I thought that made a lot of sense.
This is exactly how I approach starting back on plan. If I succumb and allow myself sweet things, or even to have bread, that's my trigger food and I can then be tempted to have a bit more. If I keep them as off plan, and only have them now and again as a planned treat, I find I don't fall off the wagon as easily. My willpower isn't great, so this is what works best for me.
Well, I left the office to go to M&S and ended up in Superdrug buying toothpaste instead! Shopping clearly isn't my forte
Here's how the meals ended up today:
B - porridge HEB; milk from HEA, sugar (2)
L - CG tomato soup (2)
D - chicken, sweetcorn, peppers, onions, carrots in sweet n sour sauce (4) with egg rice (1)
snacks - ff yogurt (1)
rest of HEA in tea/coffee

Hi Sary.....At home when I was a lot younger....My dad would not let us leave the table until we had eaten every morsal on our plates.....And his motto used to be if you take it you eat it.....
Carried that throughout my life....When my own children were small. If they didn't eat all their dinner I would finish it for them...:D...Think it was the fact I always remembered what my Dad told me...I could not see anything go to waste...Still the same now but, I cut my portion size down.
I just could not eat dinner tonight, even though I had it all prepared. Will eat it tomorrow. I think you're right eat when your body asks and have something ready so as not to snack on anything that is at hand...:D[STRIKE]68 [STRIKE]Mouses[/STRIKE] [/STRIKE]

SIRENS, hula hooping is NOT gentle!
Well done, esmy. Excellent losses, Vixstar, lindez and marmite.
beanie, I’m with you on the chocolate need. Today I could eat that poor proverbial scabby dug, but I’ve settled for sugar free irn bru – and it’s not cutting it! I don’t like hard boiled eggs – unless they are chopped with mayo and syboes and filling a tasty sandwich! BTW, see, it was just a teeny weeny gain; you’ll have that sorted quick smart.
I shop like you, sary. Once I went to Dobbies for plants and came out with a lovely pair of boots - and no plants.
Out for lunch tomorrow.
Have a great day, everyone.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -

I picked up on 'if you take it, you eat it'. I know it's extra washing up but whenever possible I don't plate up meals. I use serving dishes at the table. That way, what we don't eat (mostly vegetables) keeps for my lunch the next day.
Fantastic loss vixstar:T
Really pleased for you beanie . Hope that your 'two pound buddies' will help you get back on track. I'd love another 2lbs this week.0 -

Two questions, firstly does slimming world still have a slightly stricter variation? I think there was one before called speed something?
Secondly - are there any joining offers?0
