Phew, just caught up on the last couple of days.

Re the chillie.we add a stock cube, cumin, chillies, paprika, peppers, and if we want to make it go further or more juicy a tin of baked beans, as well as the other things you already have. It's one of the things OH does in the slow cooker and batch freeze to have as a quick midweek tea. Oh and in the summer when we have loads of courgettes from the allotment they go in too.
Ok thanks, but dont want it spicy:o

bubbs , I adapt the Hairy Bikers chilli recipe. I don't thicken it and always add extra veg like diced carrot, peppers and mushrooms. I make it in the slow cooker and batch freeze. It always tastes better if you don't eat it the same day as it marinates and deepens the flavours. I think the passata can be gloopy compared with tinned tomatoes.

I make a veggie chilli too. I use the same recipe but leave out the meat and put a selection of beans in instead. Home Bargains often have all sorts of beans on offer. That's cheaper to make than with meat. It's great with a JP at lunch time. I like it with cottage cheese on top, syn free alternative to sour cream.

Thanks, we didnt have anything on top and i don't like cottage cheese or sour cream:o:rotfl: hubby wouldnt have it meat free:eek:

Morning all, just caught up with all the posts, I go weighed this morning and have lost 2 lbs it is going in the right direction. Need to go out shopping now since I need to get some healthy food choices in before i succumb to the biscuits:rotfl:
    :T:T:T well done
Good morning and a beautiful one it is.....Not as cold as last night before bed.

Weighed in this morning and I have dropped another 2lb from my bellies...:j:j Thats the end of week two...Thought it might get easier but I always have that feeling of wanting to eat more. Doing my best not to let temptation take over me...Even though every time I go to the fridge I see 5 bars of chocolate on top. I really want to lose a bit more so am going to resist as long as I can.

Thank you to all the help and support everyone gives..It really helps! Well done on all the losses everyone posts and like some who fall by the weigh side(pardon the pun). Just get up and carry on. 'Together we can do it'.....Hmm . Sounds like a political campaign slogan.:D

    Have good days :)

B Porridge/half banana made with water/skimmed milk.. Two mugs of tea/skimmed milk no sgr
    L Leftover beef stir fry
D Lean Chicken, carrots, cabbage, swede, potatoes, parsnips and potatoes with gravy

Will drink black unsweetened coffee during the day and water
Snack Orange or Ryvita with sliced tomatoes and dash of Worcester sauce

:T:T:T:T well done, boil sme eggs and have them if hungry

    I really do.
No you dont:rotfl::rotfl: are you weighing today? i said to dh wish i was getting weighed today i feel thin:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: he said you are a tw@*:rotfl::rotfl:
Good afternoon...Have kept myself busy today...Had a clean up and emptied the freezer....Decided to make soup and because of bubbles lovely looking Chilli....I made the same....Had loads of fresh chillis in the freezer to use, Mince and I also use the vegetarian mince along with anything else to hand...I never stick rigidly to a recipe...Mostly add lots of any veg I feel will help to fill it out....Made it in a large stock pot so that I will have a lot to freeze down in portion size meals.....Haven't got around to doing the soup yet. Will get to that later or tomorrow. Need to strip down a ready cooked chicken and boil up the bones for stock.

I got to lunch and I didn't really feel hungry...Which, is the reason I came on here to ask about rather than tell you all about my day...:D.. I would never miss my breakfast because I think its a good start to the day to give a boost to the body first thing and not snack when suddenly feeling hungry. But, if not feeling hungry at a meal time is it ok to skip a meal or better just to eat a small amount even though not feeling hungry....Any thoughts on this please....? I did eat but now feeling uncomfortable for it...

Took the lad out for an hours walk thinking that would help....Only slightly...:D

Right, I will leave you to ponder over this and get on....I need to start painting my last bedroom. This will be the fourth since Xmas....Coming to the end of a 3 year renovation project with just the downstairs bathroom to complete....Don't worry I will not stop once thats done...I have outside front garden to sort out...:D Tat ta for now..

Glad it looked nice , i would say dont force yourself to eat but i may be wrong and i never have that problem:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well done lindez and you too marmite!:T

Sorry to hear some of you struggling to get back on plan. This year I made a point of buying in some special Christmas treats just for me (chocolate marzipan, cherry liqueurs and very smelly cheese). All the other stuff I can take it or leave it. So I finished my stuff on NYE and DH can have the rest. It's what I do all year really. We have biscuits in the house but not ones I particularly like.:)

Interestingly, our consultant recommended new joiners to ban their favourite treats (like chocolate or cheese) completely for the first week or so. Her reasoning was that if you can't trust yourself to stop don't have any, use your syns to enhance meals then slowly reintroduce your treats when you've built up some willpower by seeing what you can lose. I thought that made a lot of sense.

That's right tete. I cook the chilli in the SC (even if I'm at home because it's easier). Then I leave it to cool overnight and portion it up for the freezer next morning. I generally keep a portion out for my lunch with a JP but I think it somehow marinates even in the freezer.:)

This is the Hairy Bikers recipe (couldn't do a link yesterday on my phone)
    http://www.hairybikers.com/recipes/view/chilli-con-carne

I use a red wine stock cube with the beef one (or 2 beef), a bit of sweetener rather than sugar, leave out the flour and add loads of extra veg. As I'm not a veggie I still use beef stock for my veggie version but that's personal taste.

I went to WI this morning and lost 2 lbs.:j Really pleased with that so I'm now back in range and just above target. Hope to have another good week ahead.:)
Thanks for link and well done on your loss:T:T:T

    Afternoon all.

Well done sarymclary, lindez, marmite and maman.
Keep plodding everyone else - as Stoke says it's a marathon, not a sprint.

Bubbs try a pinch of sugar in your chilli (just the tiniest pinch!) - I think it makes all the difference. OH's cousin grates plain chocolate into his but this is SW....

I realised that I'd weighed on Thursday last week instead of my usual Friday so weighed this am and pleased to report 1lb off. I am a slow loser even if I'm on it 100% so that's fine.

    Todays menu
B Egg wrap with bacon and tomatoes
L Crispbread and light cheese triangle, apple, Alpen bar
    D SW fish and chips

    Have a good day.
Ok i will try all these things individually:D

Just realised I forgot to post my menu plan for today. :o I try to do it every day and use it as my food diary.

LO veg for today's lunch was from our Christmas Eve dinner. I knew I wouldn't be using it for the next day so my mse self made me put it in the freezer.:money: I was glad of it today as I only had a light breakfast before WI.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB Weetabix with HEA milk
L: ham, pickles, fried LO veg with potatoes
D: savoury mince, new potatoes, carrots, cauli, broccoli, kale
    Syns: none planned

When consultant was doing new member talk today she was telling everyone how much milk for an HEA and explained why some allowances had gone down. I have the Arla BoB milk which has the fat of skimmed but the taste of semi skimmed. This really is true and you can have 300mls of BoB compared with 250ml of semi skimmed. I think it's worth it especially on days like today were I'm having cereal and drinks.

Thats handy about the BoB milk as i have 2 x cartons as was free on a cash back app:j:j:j

    Struggling too big time.
I have hidden some of the Christmas stash.
I have put some stuff into the food bin.
THe foodbank I volunteer with has a total excess of this which is why it has not gone there.

Thanks, I have hidden some of the treats in a stacker box in the shed, ready for camping trips later in the year. I did this last year too. The family moaned when I put them away but were chuffed when I magicked up a tin of Quality Street in July.

So. Delighted to report only a 1/2 lb on this week.

So a few of us from our class are doing a 2 lb challange.
So hopefully I am getting back on track :)
