  • Gosh m finding it a struggle to get back on plan. Everywhere I go there are biscuits or Christmas cake. I also think the extra A choice is making me greedy for cheese and I know I'm sneaking extra B choices too.
I so need to get a grip!
Today I'm trying to only eat 3 meals and no snacks and then there is no opportunity for big time synning.

    That was my problem yesterday.
Once I had a snack it turned into another and then was followed by all sorts of Christmas leftovers.

I'm going to try the same 3 meals, loads of speed and water.
When it's cold I never drink enough water.....

    Morning all.

Don't feel bad, this happens to all of us. I'm technically a target member, but I'm sure I'm currently not at target after Christmas, I suspect I'm up by about 3 or 4 lbs, so I figured I would weigh in next week and use this week to hit plan hard. Instead, I've messed up almost every day so far, except Monday. Not good at all. Might have to put that weigh-in off, for just one more week ;)

Just remember though, it's a marathon not a sprint. ;)
  • Good morning and a beautiful one it is.....Not as cold as last night before bed.

Weighed in this morning and I have dropped another 2lb from my bellies...:j:j Thats the end of week two...Thought it might get easier but I always have that feeling of wanting to eat more. Doing my best not to let temptation take over me...Even though every time I go to the fridge I see 5 bars of chocolate on top. I really want to lose a bit more so am going to resist as long as I can.

Thank you to all the help and support everyone gives..It really helps! Well done on all the losses everyone posts and like some who fall by the weigh side(pardon the pun). Just get up and carry on. 'Together we can do it'.....Hmm . Sounds like a political campaign slogan.:D

    Have good days :)

B Porridge/half banana made with water/skimmed milk.. Two mugs of tea/skimmed milk no sgr
    L Leftover beef stir fry
D Lean Chicken, carrots, cabbage, swede, potatoes, parsnips and potatoes with gravy

Will drink black unsweetened coffee during the day and water
Snack Orange or Ryvita with sliced tomatoes and dash of Worcester sauce

Good idea about the fromage frais I always struggled with buying, ff, yoghurt, quarks etc then not using it all, I hate waste. I hadn't thought of freezing it. Is there a fat free fromage frais? Or are there syns?

I also started with C25K some years ago, but only ran on a treadmill, I started running outside last easter and now love it. Very cold this morning in the Peak District though.

I've looked it up and 'normal' natural fromage frais is 4 syns per 100g, fat free natural fromage frais is free. Obvs there are loads of flavoured ones that carry various amounts of synnage.

I 'learned' to run on a treadmill too, and thought my lungs were going to explode the first time I tried outdoor running! Couldn't go back now though, I feel like I'm suffocating on a treadmill now.

bubbs , I adapt the Hairy Bikers chilli recipe. I don't thicken it and always add extra veg like diced carrot, peppers and mushrooms. I make it in the slow cooker and batch freeze. It always tastes better if you don't eat it the same day as it marinates and deepens the flavours. I think the passata can be gloopy compared with tinned tomatoes.

I like it with cottage cheese on top, syn free alternative to sour cream.

I always wonder about this - so, do you cook it as normal on Day 1, then just leave it overnight (turned off) and ... then do you do it for less time on Day 2? Just warm it through?

The cottage cheese instead of sour cream is genius!

Matron Midge, it is a struggle at this time of year with leftover treats everywhere. Even going to the supermarket you're confronted with 24p mince pies, etc, etc.

I dragged myself out of bed this morning for my swim - really didn't want to but I was rewarded with an almost empty pool - it was glorious!

    Today:
B - Porridge with cinnamon and blueberries (so happy these are now speed!)
D - Salad - Tuna, egg, beetroot, carrot, sweetcorn, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar
T - Chicken , red onion, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, brown rice
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - Oats
Syns - Sugar in coffee and porridge (5), packaged beetroot (1), hot chocolate (2) = 8
    Exercise - 1km swim

    Hopefully that'll be it!

How do you think I feel, there are about 12 bars which I cannot touch. I have family in Egypt and they love Dairy Milk chocolate, BUT it must be Irish made! Strange as it sounds, they make chocolate there which can only be bought there or imported into UK by Irish shops, they are bars of 8 squares. It is much creamier (and always has been) than the carp that is now made by Mondelez and tastes so much nicer. I don't drink, but I fully understand what is meant by Guinness poured in Ireland is much better than here. Going to Egypt in a few weeks, so temptation will be removed!

Well done on amazing weight losses mentioned, hopefully I will do the same tonight, I better!

Thanks Tete, i'll look out for fat free versions.

I've not yet had the urge to go back on the tread mill, managed to drag myself out in wind, rain and frost(yesterday), but i'm sure the first bit of snow i'll retreat inside and it'll be awful.
Funny thing is that since i've been running outside i've crept up half a stone - i guess i must be hungry when i get in!
