Hi
I am in the process of buying a house with my girlfriend, we have had the mortgage offer and the bank have checked the house over and are happy to lend to us what we want.
I would like to get a joint bank account for bills only will this effect our credit scores as I am unsure if the credit check would have been done on the mortgage already?
Thank you

Once you have a joint mortgage, you will have a financial link to the other party. Opening a joint bank will create another link.
Take little/no notice of the score, it will go up and down with any changes.
Maybe hang off opening any new account of any kind until the mortgage has gone through completely.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. As above, hold fire on the opening of a new account until the mortgage is done and dusted.0
