Maman....how fab that your bathroom is finished and that you are so pleased. It's worth it in the end isn't it

Absolutely worth it!:D I've had the time this morning to pamper, defuzz and slather on the body lotion. Bliss!:D

The weather is very changeable, quite a challenge knowing what to wear at the moment.:D

Last night I ended up wearing a long sleeved black top and leggings under my dress. I often wear it as a sort of 'coat dress' . I remember someone on here was amused when I said I wore it unbuttoned to the waist! I was pleasantly warm but definitely not too hot.:)

Good to hear from you chanie. Any more ideas for your birthday?:)

I'll do my usual meal plan and shop today but I think I'll leave going into the city centre until next week. It'll be quieter now that the schools are back. :)

Yes, I have!!! I have booked a pampering session at a local spa for a couple of hours, pop to the shops to run some errands, pick up the children from school and then we are off out for meal.

I also have a shopping trip planned after work one day as well, plus a day trip to France, so, I have lots to look forward to.

    Hi All

Maman - my kitchen has just finished being fitted & I've bought about a dozen of those baskets in grey and black to store all the small things in. I've also got some in my bathroom too. Everyday cosmetics in one and all my nailcare stuff in another. Mush handier than searching for stuff.
I had a pedi and mani polish yesterday afternoon so I'd be neat and tidy for a wedding reception tomorrow. The weather looked awful for today so I messaged my son to give me a hand to get my boat off the pontoon and back on the mooring. I now have two broken nails and I've scraped the polish off some of my toes where I was kneeling on the deck with open toed sandals! I can do some running repairs but how stupid was that!
I've got a nice black and white patterned dress thats got a black band round the hem. Its a little on the short side on me as I'm tall so I'm thinking of teaming it with back leggings. Its not a look I've gone for before so I'll try it out and see what I think.
I've also managed to have a small cull of some clothes I havn't worn for years but kept for Justin - they're all classic so I've taken them to a particular CS as they've provided me with quite a few nice things in the past ;)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    Good morning lovely ladies.

Chanie.....your birthday treats sound wonderful. Hope you have a fabulous time.

Silva....what a shame about your nails. Hope you can rescue them. Hope you enjoy the wedding,

I too had a major wardrobe cull yesterday, a black bin liner full to be dropped off to the charity shop and a load of summer clothes into a suitcase in the spare room. I had a good stocktake whilst I was at it and I now need to treat myself to some nice undies and some knitwear. I did have a quick look at sweaters the other day but didn't really see anything that took my fancy.

Pleased to report that I've lost another 1lb. Just 5.1/2 to go. Now that I almost at my target I am going to really shop with intention buying only clothes which I absolutely love. From now on no more "it will do" or "it will tide me over". So even if it's only a couple of sweaters I will wait until I find exactly what I want.

Nothing special planned today. The next couple of weeks are going to be very busy so I will just make the most of my free time today.

    Have a lovely weekend.
  • I'm not feeling very fab as I am tired from my husband working nights all week and I feel like I'm getting a cold. I am going out to meet my friend on Tuesday as well. Grr.

I am taking vitamin C and echinacea to try and fend it off. It might just be the change in weather as it is a lot cooler here now.

I'm going to do a facial and pampering session after my husband goes out tonight and curl up and watch Real Housewives.:D

I'm going to drop off a donation to the chazzer this week and will keep my eye out for jumpers and warmer clothing.:)

  • Hello Ladies,

I went to a party for my favourite DJ at a local wine bar last night and I had a fantastic time. :j I danced my legs off mostly with this Jamaican man named Marcus that is a great dancer. :D I arrived at the party just after 8.30pm and I left just after midnight as my body was aching from all of the dancing. The party was still going strong, but I needed to be sensible. :D

Marcus wants to start talking to me on the phone, but I did not agree to take his phone number. I prefer just to run into him whenever both of us have a night out in the wine bar on the same night. He told me that I have a pretty face. :)

Another man named Dave told me that I was a really good dancer. :)

I wore my pink vertical ruffle Kaleidoscope dress, with my black patent Van Dal leather sling back shoes with the gold cutouts. I wore my long black leather jacket and I took my black patent leather Osprey bag with gold trim and clasp. I wore solid gold jewellery with my gold plated Tissot watch and I layered my perfume with the matching shower gel, body powder and body lotion. I wore clear lip gloss and clear nail polish on my fingernails.
  • Good morning lovely ladies...

SUgarbaby.....your night out sounds like such fun......you are a real man magnate......:rotfl: you will have to tell us your secret. :D.

Well I'm off out today, lunch at my fave restaurant. Wearing my plain grey shift dress and my fake snakeskin jacket to "jazz it up" and take the edge of the plainness and inject a bit of fun into the outfit.

Workmen here so will just leave them to it.

I have decided I am going to buy in quite a bit of help.....speed things up and save wear and tear on my poor old body...... no point killing myself trying to save a few shekels. As my husband used to say "why have a dog and bark yourself" :rotfl:

Having said that I have started yoga again.....just a few simple stretches to start. Feel better already.

    Have a great day y'all.
  • I went for a 45 minute walk, it's still quite sunny but with a nip in the air. I wore my black maxi dress, a black fitted jumper and my black and white skechers.

My cold didn't develop luckily and I feel fine today. I bought some lemons and fresh ginger at the Turkish supermarket as I'm going to start having that in a hot drink every morning.

I got some Manzi tights and a black Vincenzo Boretti jumper from Amazon. They both look quite good quality. I was looking on the M&S website for a polo neck but thought I would go for a mooch around the charity shops tomorrow instead. One of the shops near me usually has quite a lot of M&S stuff in there. I would like a red and a black polo neck. I will drop off the donation bag at the same time.

I also just got a new diary from one of those cheap shops near me. An A4 2020 week to view for £3.50. It is the time of year when I feel like getting organised!:)

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Glad to hear the cold came to nothing Wednesday . You sound quite energised today.:)

You're certainly a magnet for Jamaican men sugarbaby . Probably best not to tell your sister. :D

Today's the first chance I've had to put the flaxseed oil on my face. It feels lovely and soft. Shame that it doesn't smell delightful like my Clarins serum. :)

DH and I gave the sitting room a deep clean earlier. He did the hoovering and polishing and I washed all the paintwork, windows and ornaments. We're hoping that all the building dust has eventually settled. :)

Is it a meal for a special occasion LL ? We're having our usual Sunday roast. Anyone else watching Sanditon? :)

Yes a special occasion, a double celebration.

Celebrating DS2s new job......a real career breakthrough for him and also bidding farewell to the Venezuelan lot. They fly home on Tuesday. MIL will be here till roughly the end of Sept, until it gets too cold for her.

My poor grandson won't know what's hit him. He's been pampered and petted ever since he was born, always surrounded by doting family, attending to his every whim and hearts desire. From October it will just be mummy and daddy. (Ok and yours truly). He's just started nursery, easing him gently. Part time building up to full time when MIL goes home.

He was so funny in the restaurant today. He had the waiting staff eating out of his hand. He's such a flirt, a real charmer.....he's so much like my husband with his charisma and easy charm I almost wince at times. The staff were falling over themselves to get his smiles, even the young guys were smitten.

I'm recording Sanditon, not seen it yet. Also Peaky Blinders.
