10,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Good morning lovely ladies

Well I watched the first 3 episodes of Sanditon. What larks.;). Huge fun. :D.

I dont know if anyone saw it.....I have recorded it but not watched yet but the other night (Wednesday I think) there was a documentary about volunteers working at Derby Royal Hospital (our big city hospital). I think it's going to be on for 3 weeks. Not just the usual volunteer porters, drivers, staffing the shop and going round with trolleys etc but actual health care on the wards.

It's An experiment to try and see if it helps with the shortfall in staffing and resources in an effort to ease some of the pressure. As I say I have not yet had chance to watch it.

Not quite sure what the day will bring yet. Rain forecast. I need to buy paint and diy materials so probably shopping, drop some stuff off at the chazzer and a tip run I think. Aiming to start my bedroom this week. DS2 will be helping so I need to make sure I've got everything ready and organised for him so we can get cracking.
  • I've been whitening my teeth but the only problem is that is is making my lips sore!:(

I'm about to have a bubble bath, use a face pack and use body lotion afterwards.:A

Glad to hear the cold came to nothing Wednesday . You sound quite energised today.:)

I haven't been as much today!:D I only just got up as I had a really long lie-in after my husband is now off nights!

I decided not to drop the stuff off at the chazzer today as it is pouring here. This is one of the times when I wished I drive as it is such a pain when it rains.

I will drop it off tomorrow before I go into London to meet my friend. It's meant to be much nicer weather.:)

  • Good morning lovely ladies...

SUgarbaby.....your night out sounds like such fun......you are a real man magnate......:rotfl: you will have to tell us your secret. :D.
    l.

Maman and LL I do not know why I am always attracting Jamaican men, but there are a huge number of them living in London. :rotfl: The pub and the wine bar I go to most regularly are full of Jamaican men.

I do have other male admirers who are black men who are from other Caribbean Islands as well. :D

I love Sanditon. I record it and watch it at my leisure :D
  • Just watch out for Trini men :rotfl:

I'm currently in Trinidad (my mum is from here so I'm visiting fam. My cousin/best friend just had a baby)

I've been trying to keep up with the chat but you all live such interesting lives I don't know where to start
Yay for bathrooms and new jobs and figuring things out and days when we have more energy and trying to be our best selves
    Elmo :) xx

  • Good Morning everyone.

Ooh I bet Trinidad is warmer than here.:rotfl: have a lovely time.

Operation bedroom starts today!! DS2 will be doing the hard graft bless him. Saves me the ladder work, I'll just keep the snacks coming and be his assistant and general dogsbody.

Have started yoga and some physio stretches again, just a few simple moves to start with, gently does it. Feel less stiff already and it's only been 3 days. :D.

Bought a nice thick cowl neck sweater yesterday from a chazzer. Hopefully won't need it just yet.

    Have a great day y'all.

And, of course, going to Trinidad isn't an interesting life, elmo! Have a great time.:D

Hope you enjoyed your day with your friend Wednesday. I don't think it's such an issue not driving if you have good public transport until you have stuff to carry or the weather is horrible. I know when I was waiting (all of 24 hours:o) for the courtesy car I felt really frustrated. I often use public transport to get out and about but I'd planned to do a big food shop.:( I suppose we all find ways round it whether that's online shopping or whatever.

Car is now at the paint spraying stage so shouldn't be too long coming back. It's not been a problem though as courtesy car is a good alternative. I've been impressed with the garage the insurers have used, they have a website that lets me track the progress of the repair and send me an alert when there's something new to report. I like good customer service. :)

It's not often that fashion pages feature something from Debenhams but they have a new collection called Kley (??odd name:think:) coming out and it looks really interesting.

One of the plus points is that compared to many stores it's relatively affordable. I just hope they've got their suppliers primed for a potential success. Where M&S have gone wrong in recent years (amongst may things) is that they've come out with something really good and then it's not available in sufficient numbers. I don't really need anything new but I'll certainly take a look when it's released. :) Our local Debenhams is looking sad at the moment, one floor closed down completely and everything else really spaced out to try to hide the lack of stock. About the only thing that still looks fairly normal is the cosmetics. :)

I've had a luxurious shower, slathered and put flaxseed on my face this morning as I'm not planning on going out until later this afternoon, if at all. Dancing last night and I did wear a long sleeved top with a long, cotton skirt. I took a cardigan but didn't need it as it's not that cold here (19 degrees today). I could really pack my summer clothes away but not ready to go into woollies quite yet. :)
  • Just popping in to update with the new skincare routine...

Absolutely love 'double cleansing', my skin feels so soft. I have also started using a toner with glycolic acid in it, which has transformed the texture of my skin. It no longer feels rough and bumpy, lovely and smooth now for the most part. I also have much, much less problem skin around my jawline, so very pleased with all of that at the moment.

Less than a week until I get my hair done at the hairdressers... I feel excessively excited :rotfl:
  • I have ordered some more of the Skyn Iceland cloud cream as it is the best one I've tried although it is expensive.

I also ordered three new v-neck cardigans as I didn't see any in the chazzers. Obviously women living near me have thought ahead about Autumn and bought all the nice ones from the charity shops!

I got a red one, a hot pink one and a cobalt blue one.:D

I'm looking forward to the Muse concert this weekend. We are going to see a film and have a meal first at the O2.

I think I might wear my black New Look dress as I haven't worn that yet.

I did have a lovely time yesterday.:)

We were chatting for 4 hours and we had a lovely meal, followed by cupcakes.:p

The only problem was that I was wearing heeled boots and I was tottering around as I'm so used to wearing flatter sandals!:o

My big birthday (4-0) celebrations are alive and kicking and I have done lots of nice things over the past few days and I have lots to look forward to.

To mark the occasion, I had an ear piercing (daith - which is the nobbly bit just above ear canal). Other than my ear lobes I don't have any other piercings and no tattoos. I have always been concerned about having visible tattoos, piercings and bright coloured hair from a work perspective, but the world of work has changed and its much more acceptable now. My piercing is quite subtle anyway and I plan on getting a nice pretty hoop once its healed.

I have a massage and dinner to look forward to.
