Happy birthday LL, your proposed celebrations sound lovely, have a great time.

I am going to a small birthday lunch for an 86 year old tomorrow, I too will be wearing a black and white swirly skirt, a beautiful Kalico crepe top with small grey and black flowers that have tiny bead centres around the neck, both CS. Black ballet pumps (retail), linen jacket (retail) and some black and silver tone jewellery (CS) will complete the monochrome look, a bright fuchsia lippie should give it a lift.

I have dipped out of a coffee get together this morning, for once common sense has prevailed and I have accepted that two consecutive social days would just wipe me out:(

    Have a great weekend all.

I went to get my teeth moulds fitted for the teeth whitening the other day. OMG, I wasn't expecting that to be so awkward. The dentist found it difficult to find moulds to fit over my teeth. The small and the medium trays didn't fit.

She had to keep trying to put in different trays filled with the filling. It took about 30 minutes. It could only happen to me!:rotfl:

I'm getting into a rut with this warm weather. I keep wearing my two navy blue dresses with leggings one day after the other.:o:D

I'm going to go for a mooch around the charity shops next week after I pick up the bleaching trays on Monday. I might get the ear candling done again as the Chinese place as I am noticing my hay fever playing up a bit.

Dental work is horrible......I really need to get a grip and get my teeth sorted but I keep putting it off. Both for financial reasons but also I just can't face it.

Wednesday - the chazzas have been my salvation this year. Since losing weight and needing to replace much of my wardrobe they have been an absolute boon. Saved me a fortune.

I have been stockpiling size 14 summer clothes for a few months picking up bits and pieces whenever I saw them. I have now started hunting out winter clothes. Its a bit early yet but I have picked up a few items from the everything for £1 Cancer Research.

I think it's a bit of "clearing house" for the stuff their more expensive shops can't shift so you do have to wade through the racks but I have picked up some nice bits.

I did pop into Primark the other day and noticed they are putting their autumn winter stock out. Didn't buy anything.

Thanks for all your good wishes. Just going to put on some slap and head off soon. Weather is a bit disappointing so had to rethink my outfit.

We got home on Thursday from a fabulous holiday so now it's great to be back with my virtual friends.:) There's no way I can read back through almost a month of posts so do let me know if I've missed anything.:)

Just in time to wish you a very happy Birthday LL. :A

I did think of you all while I was away. Holidays are a fantastic opportunity for people watching  and I was doing an audit of all the things I now get right because of this thread compared with some of the disasters I saw around. Fat and frumpy were the worst culprits but quite a bit of mutton dressed as lamb too. :D

I've got a great tan. I don't sunbathe as such just sit under an umbrella most of the time but it still works with the reflected light. I was out for a meal last night and it was great to wear a sleeveless dress and no tights.

Unfortunately it feels like I've gained about half a stone! While I did eat lots of healthy food while I was away I had far too much bread, chips and full fat tonic!:( So I've done my food shop for the week and a meal plan and I need to get back to normal. :)

I booked the ear candling for this Monday and I realised that the dentist is the Monday afterwards!

It's annoying as I'm going out next Friday night to see a comedian in London and I wanted to whiten my teeth before then, oh well.

I will look in the £1 charity shop after the ear treatment and hopefully I can find a new outfit for the night out.:A

No more navy dresses! I need a nice black one. I have a size 12 black dress but it still doesn't fit across the chest, hopefully one day it will.:D

Yes, I haven't been in a chazzer for weeks now. I was going a few times a week a while back.:p

It's a good idea to look out for autumn clothes now. I only have one black winter coat in my wardrobe as I did a declutter the other day. I would like a red coat too.

I never did get that red mac I wanted! The weather went suddenly warm and I missed my window of opportunity.:D

You too, Moll. Hope you have had a great day. And well done on losing a stone. Not easy when you have health issues.

I have had a lovely day, been treated like a princess and there's still more celebrations to come over the next few days. My youngest son couldn't join us today so he and his girlfriend are taking me out for a slap up lunch on Monday. Then on Tuesday it's my grandsons first birthday so lots of fun still to come.

Maman......lovely to see you back. Glad you had a nice time, hope you've brought us lots of sunshine home .......:D

Love the comment about "mutton dressed as lamb". I agree. I think its Probably a worse crime against femininity than being a frump.

I think trying to dress "sexy" or to look younger is an absolute turn off and is always doomed to failure. It seems to backfire, attracting the wrong kind of attention and often making the woman look even older, not younger.

I think understated elegance is far more classy and timeless in its appeal.
