Talking about voices, the 2nd builder rang me up before! Full on cocky Southerner, my back went straight up, but am still letting Him come to give me a quote, just as back up;):D
Sean Bean's voice makes me melt.Love a bit of Northern rough:rotfl:
LL John the 3rd, sounds like He could send a glass eye to sleep:mad::rotfl:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
(Kabat-Zinn 2004):D:D:D0 -
Don't want to lower the tone but....lessonlearned wrote: »I look in the mirror and see my mum looking out at me....
Me too....scary!:eek::rotfl:
Not that my mum was scary but it makes me feel old. Fortunately there are other days when I see my DD. She's young!:D
My DH's voice, while RP with beautiful diction fortunately isn't as plummy as some of the royals.0 -
PS there's definitely something about Jack Nicholson LL ;)Think He has a naughty glint in his eye:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

And like bad pennies the teenagers have turned up. One is planning on staying the night, both are going through the fridge and cupboard. Why do teenage boys have hollow legs?0

Hello Ladies,
Maman, I do not have any connection to Jamaica but my sister H and R have been to Jamaica 5 times previously on 5* holidays and had the most wonderful adventures and holidays. I am very fortunate that at last I have been able to afford to join them.
I do not have the vocabulary to adequately describe the level of excitement that I am feeling about my holiday. We fly out of Gatwick on Thursday morning. :j:D
LL, already John 3 and your dating experiences are generating lots of discussion on this thread, much indignation and laughter
I look very like my Mother and it gives me so much pleasure. I lost her some years ago but I am glad that she lives on through me and her other daughters. I keep my Mother's memory alive for my children and grandchildren as well.
Thanks to my grandson and the whole complicated relationship that he has with the mother of his son, I still have not met my great grandson in person yet.I have had to be satisfied with seeing photographs and videos of him to date.

Now that you've got your finances on an even keel and knowing how amazing you are are at handling them:money:, I'm sure this holiday will be the first of many!

Sugarbaby - wishing you a fabulous time on your holiday. We need to know all about it when you get back
LL - what's the adage about kissing a lot of frogs before you find your prince? No one tells you there are toads too
I'm another one who has a penchant for a voice - preferably a deep dark one
Had an appointment at the doctor's this morning for an asthma review - all OK. As it was such a nice day and not far I decided to walk.it was so lovely, birds singing, trees bright green, gardens beginning to bloom & I just thought how lucky I was to be able to enjoy it all and what a lovely month May can be.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Sorry Dorothy.....didn't mean to make anyone cry. Was just feeling sentimental cuddling my grandson. :rotfl: I guess talking to that dingbat last night got me reminiscing. (And comparing).
Talking about voices.....one of my favourite voices belongs to John Hurt. It's got more gravelly with age but it's just so distinctive. And he's a Derbyshire lad:rotfl: born in Chesterfield. He has a "star" on one of our city centre pavements. It's a bit of a hall of fame for worthies ......he's next to one for Rolls Royce, so he's in good company.
And David Tennants voice is enough to make me melt. Another great female voice is Emily Blunt. I thought she was hilarious in Mary Poppins, she does a cut glass accent to perfection. So clipped and precise.
Granny duty will be here tomorrow. My sons garden still resembles a building site and it is just not safe so it will be nice to get a blanket out on the lawn and let him just crawl about. He's a real fresh air fiend.
DILS mum is over here at the moment and we are doubling up on granny duty. She's a lovely lady but it's very interesting how Venezuelan parenting is very different from the way we Brits do it. They don't seem to share our passion for fresh air. :rotfl:
Wednesday....don't worry too much about a couple of lbs weight gain. I've gone off piste with WW this week and the next couple of days will be fairly erratic but I'll do the best I can and then get back to it on Friday. We can't be perfect all the time. :rotfl:0 -
sugar looking forward to your posts when you get back.
Lessonsit made me chuckle that J3 didn’t pass the ‘game of thrones test’. From here on in, any man will need to pass the GOT test.
Silva good for you for enjoying the nice weather and appreciating your surroundings.
Whilst we are on the subject of game of thrones, I binged watched episodes 1-4 at the weekend as the children were staying with family. There have been a few disappointments, but hopefully there will be some answers coming up in the remaining two episodes.0 -
looks like LL's made every one chuckle today with her John call!
Like everyone's said there will be someone out there who is worth waiting for0
