So pleased to read your updates x

  • Thanks dawnybabes . Well it’s payday today 🙌. I had £25 left at end of month so I’m going to pay that off my CC. I’m going to try really hard this month to be really frugal. I’m going to shop every 10 days rather than weekly as I find that cuts down my spends a bit. I need to call a local business to come and take away some garden rubbish but that won’t cost much. Other than that I hopefully don’t have much on this month. Have a great Friday folks xx
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
    Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • Nice to see you back millionaire.
How great that you're still with your man.
Are you both bringing the same amount to the table if you move in together?
Is there anyway you could keep your house and rent it out. I'm a firm believer in women protecting their assets and having a security blanket.
  • We would both bring the same to the table EE. He could do a lot more to be fair, and would, but I won’t let him as I want it to be equal. I was thinking of moving anyway as I live at the top of a hill and as I get older it’ll become harder to manage. We are both agreed that we will have a legal document securing our own money and also our children’s inheritance as that is really important to me. X

  • So last month I paid off one of my cards in full. I was thinking today that I wouldn’t need to pay that this month woohoo!! But I then thought why not still pay out that money as I was managing the payments. So I’ve paid an extra £75 to my card I’m concentrating on and it feels really good to have done that.
I’ve had another thought too. I drink about a bottle of Pepsi max each day. I’ve ordered some for this week already in my shopping but once that is done I’m going to really try and give it up and I’ll pay £2 a day off of my debt instead. I’m quite addicted though so we will see how I get on. I really want to stop drinking it though. So bad for you, costs a fortune and it’s just not necessary.
This is my final month for paying off my tax bill as well so my income will go up by £80 per month from April so that’ll go in the pot too.
Im also lucky enough to be getting a wage rise so I will put that in too when I get it. Once I have to go back in the office I’ll need money for travel but until then I’ll try my best to drill this card down. I wish I had paid the travel money in as soon as I started working from home but I didn’t. My shopping bill shot through the roof and to be honest if I had been going in to the office I would have probably struggled financially each month so I cut myself a bit of slack with that.
So this months plan is to spend as little as I can. I have no major expenses that I’m aware of so I should manage to tighten my spends. Then if anything left at end of month it can be paid off the card as well. My goal is to get to £10k owed by December but my secret goal is to get down to one card 😉

Just realised you are back, nice to 'see' you again :)  Glad that all is well.

Good luck with the weightloss, I've put on loads since last year too :(

  • It's an absolute scunner jwil. I had to get my steps up though and that's why I had to keep walking to the kitchen  :/. I have however managed to lose 7lbs in 5 days this week by sticking to 1500 calories per day. I'm managing so far so fingers crossed.
I got my first vaccine this week  <3. Maybe get some normality back to our lives soon. I was a bit poorly the next day but otherwise fine thankfully. Lovely man is getting his second one on Monday.
So becuase I wasn't very well lovely man has apparently got a gift coming to thehouse for me tomorrow. He says it's not flowers so I have no clue what it will be. I have a feeling it'll be an afternoon tea. He's a saboteur when it comes to my diet !!
Not much happened this week money wise unfortunately but at least I am thinking of wht I am spending these days so that's a step forward. I hope everyone is well xx

Good luck with the weight loss MIT.
When my mum and sister had 5 stone to lose each they started off by just logging all food they ate for 2 weeks, that showed them they were taking in on average 3000 calories per day.
They then made a few minor changes and decided to keep to 2500 calories a day, a week later they cut to 2000 and eventually went to 1800 where they stayed.
They found this much easier than going from 3000 straight to 1800, this is a lifestyle change so needs to be sustainable.
Quick wins for them were the biscuits they had with their coffee each day, were 130 calories each so they changed to makado which are 11 calories each but satisfied the biscuit/chocolate craving.

Go easy on yourself and if 1500 isn't enough long term then you can always increase it a bit.
