  • Back again. I’m actually doing pretty well on the debt front. Sadly this is because I’ve been working from home since last March and saving a fortune not having to travel or buy lunches. Both kids are still living with me but DD has been saving like a mad yin for a deposit to buy a house with her bf. DS has been paying off the debt he had run up gambling at a rate of knots.
I’m still with my lovely man and things just keep getting better and better. He wants to get married and move in but I want to take things a bit slower. I’ve been on my own for over 20 yrs and sometimes get a wee bit overwhelmed. Additionally we have only known each other during covid whilst we are stuck at home. Once some normality returns and normal life kicks in then who knows, it might not work quite so well. I’m just an over thinker lol. I hope you are all well. I’ll try and go a wee catch up. I’ll figure out how to update my signature as well .
I cashed in a small pension and got a small amount of compensation from an accident so my debt has dropped a fair bit which is very exciting.
Heading to my lovely mans today as he was working all weekend. I have an afternoon tea all made with Prosecco to treat him when he comes in from work. I’m going to get dolled up and we will have a lovely day. He is in my extended household but we had decided at the beginning of the year to not see each other in January due to me living in the Glasgow area where figures are mega!! So I’ve only seen him once this year. Anyway I best go and pretty myself up xx

  • I didn’t see you there nonnie 👋🏻.
Verbatim, thank you. I hope you are good .
My lovely man is on his way to pick me up for an exciting trip to collect my shopping and then collect a meal from black rooster for dinner. We are both trying to lose weight but we have worked this in to our calories. I’ve been doing e-learning today so I’m shattered. Isn’t it strange that when you literally do nothing but sit and read you are jiggered.
It’s lovely mans birthday this week so I have him coming here on Sunday for a Sunday dinner. I’ll get him a cake. I’ve got him a really nice watch and some clothes. He is super generous but I have told him that I won’t even be trying to keep up with him for gifts as I would have to go in to debt to do that and I just refuse to add anything. I want this gone once and for all. I’ve only got two cards left, down from 11 and I’m overpaying them both every month. I do that by standing order so I have no choice. I’m also doing the ‘save the change’ with my bank and that gets paid off the mortgage. It’s only pennies but it all helps.
So I hope everyone is well this rainy Friday afternoon. Have a fab weekend xx

  • Evening folks. Payday tomorrow. To be honest I don't have a lot of leeway to overpay but I'm trying my best. I haven't used a card in months for anything so that's a great start for me. As I already said I am overpaying both cards by a wee bit each month. I adjusted my DD to overpay regularly and the amount will not decrease. I think this is a great thing as it's very tempting to just pay the minimum each month. I've decided that the save the change money will go to the CC instead of the mortgage as lovely man and I are discussing possibly getting a place together so that'll change everything again. Therefore I want rid of as much of my other debt that I can in the meantime. I won £30 on the lottery so I've paid that off as well. Next month wil be my final payment to my tax bill as well so I will increase my payments bu £80 per month then as well. Everything is going in the right direction.
I hope you are all well xx
