Thanks Dawnybabes. I hope you are well.
Working from home today. I've a few things to do. I'm still training though so I'm limited. I'll do my best though.
It's difficult to actively money save but today I am saving money due to not having to use the train. I have taken soup out of the freezer for lunch and chilli for dinner. I'm doing the Cambridge diet so that's all i need other than a baked potato and a yogurt. I have two meal replacement products as well. I've been rubbish at following the plan and have put back on two stones of the four I lost. This is a hugely expensive diet so I need to get a grip and get on with it. So I am beginning again today
I'm excited about being back here. I'm thinking of ways I can save money. I've already paid off my monthly train costs from my most expensive card. I can't really do much more than that just now except make sure I don't spend anything unnecessarily. Awy to do some work now. Have a nice day all xx

Best win so far - holiday to Florida1 -
Hi PLMBL nice to 'see' you too, I hope you and yours are all well.
I had to call doc yesterday as I've had a wheezy chest since I came back from holiday three weeks ago and it's just not lifting. I quite often get a bad chest after flying and after they checked my medical records they could see that and gave me antibiotics, Was very scary going through all the covid questions though. It has made me think about what would happen if I did catch it. I have a BMI of over 40 so am at risk if I do catch it. I thought this was tosh but the reason was explained on the news this morning. Apparently it is difficult to intubate an obese person and also to physically move them. This is the risk for fatties. I'm actually horrified that I am yet again allowing being overweight to endanger my life. I need to sort this out. But it is SO HARD. I have such an addictive personality. I'm sure I'm a food addict. I've already had a roll with butter on this morning and a large dairy milk. I'm going to spend today getting sorted out to start in earnest tomorrow. I'll get one of the kids to go and pick up fruit and salad for me. I can't go out due to being on antibiotics and told to self isolate for 7 days. Kids apparently don't need to as they have already been in my company whilst I have had this for three weeks and have no symptoms. So if it is the dreaded virus then they haven't caught it. I reckon I'll be working at home until the summer at least so I am going to start tomorrow and go for it. If anyone fancies joining me then let me know.
Money saving today will be eating from the cupboards and freezer. Yesterday was a spendy day. It's DD's birthday next week so I ordered her a pair of trainers she wanted and a swarovski necklace as a surprise. It's also her boyfriends birthday today so that was a voucher for £25 for him as well .
I better get some work done and stop faffing about. Stay safe everyone and keep well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Hi folks. Although working at home I'm looking forward to stopping today for four days. I don't need to then think about how I manage to do any work when I am only at the beginning of my learning. Very difficult to try and stay busy.
I haven't been in a supermarket for nearly two weeks now. Just buying food from the local shop but it's becoming quite expensive. I'll need to just bite the bullet one day after the weekend and head in for some shopping. I'll try and get enough for at least another two weeks so I don't have to go very often. It totally stresses me out leaving the house. A poor friend of mine struggles with agoraphobia and struggles on a daily basis. This has however now gone in to overdrive and she is terrified to go out. It's such a shame. When this is all over I will go and see her and try and get her outside.
Spent £9 today on burgers, rolls, cheese and onions from local shop. I won't have any other spends today. Think DD and i will just have toasties and chips for dinner to use up the bread that is there. No doubt she will moan about that
I hope everyone is staying safe and well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Welcome back! I found you again
Thank you for your explanation about why obesity is an issue. My BMI is over 40 and I knew I was at risk but wasn't sure exactly why. I did look up the other day what my weight would need to be to get me out of the at risk category and it needs a massive weightlossIt is a real eye opener, and like you, I've been feeling guilty that I am in this position of my own accord.
Have a good weekend, and hope you are feeling better now"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

Hi MIT,
Welcome back. Well done on losing 4 stone last year & even though you put 2 back on you're back addressing the issue now. Why are you doing the Cambridge diet? I'm guessing you followed the NHS program last year when you were losing so much?
Congrats on your promotion too. Are you full time again? The current pandemic is truly scary and I'm staying in as much as possible. Can't you get your kids to shop for you? Would also stop the impulsive treats falling into the basket if they had strict instructions to keep to the list!
