Well set it up - took me ages to figure out how to do the ariel - me being a plum!!
Works bril though and can get my number up too
Does anyone know how long you have to send the texts for?0 -
It's 48 weeks out of 52, so basically it's for a year. If you do not send the required amount they say they will ask for the set top box back. If you make the year though, they send you £50 of M & S vouchers so it's a good deal. They prefer their texts on a Monday too, the info said!
I have just registered for one so have just been reading the confirmation email, hence knowing all the above facts! A very nice lady spoke to me on the phone and registered my interest and apparently my box is on its way out to me.:T Can't wait.To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. I emailed the form on Thursday and thought nothing more of it...until I was awoken by the post man this morning with a parcel. Got it set up. Ugly cheap looking thing but it is a lot more stable than a grundig box we were using. Won't be using it as the main TV as we have Windows Media Center to do that - but it's sitting in our dining room and will be left in standby as requested.
Will keep up the texts - they cost nothing so for 48 texts I get £50 of M&S vouchers. Bargain!!
Thanks to the OP.0 -
Set top box arrived but without scart lead so cannot actually get it set up yet, and yes, I am putting it on my second TV in my home office as I spend a great deal of my time in here on the puter with the TV on, so it's almost like my main tv set. Just don't tell anyone!! Have to wait to get a scart lead to see what the picture is like and if I can get it to work being just a blonde!! Though to be honest, it's me who works out all the electrical stuff in this house, the OH cannot even set the timer on the video - it's some sort of mental block!!To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Thanks OP, Im well chuffed0 -
Looks like i'll have top send mine back...
I'm in a Digital TV Black spot (well this side of the house!)
I'll try and get an aerial from the other side of the house to my Room, but not getting my hopes up.
I'm not going to spend £65+ on getting a roof/loft aerial installed to get £50 in vouchers.Laters

First message sent and confirmed.
The box actually arrived without the Teletext EPG and updated itself overnight. I quite like the look of it actually, it's much easier on the eye than the default EPG that is used on a multitude of "budget" boxes.
Saw the exact same box in Sainsburys for £17.99 so that's the value of the freebie incase anybody was wondering.
I am making a point of "playing" with the EPG a couple of times a day (such as setting reminders, viewing program reviews etc) and the other half watches TV in there whilst ironing so it is getting used.0
