Advice on asbestos and lead paint/

Sanding paint is never a good idea though. And I'd hope if you suspected lead paint you'd avoid doing something silly, but maybe not!
Again you're just ignoring the lead issue really. Most people sand paint, mask or no mask. The dust created can get on clothes and all over the house so if it has lead in it that can lead to exposure. And not everyone is aware of the dangers of lead in paint.0 -

Sorry, there's no help for people lacking in common sense. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0 -

I’m back on this thread again because I’m worrying like crazy again about the horse hair plaster ceiling and is digging holes into it. My son had a horse hair and some plaster in his mouth and I’m going crazy worried again. I kept a tiny tiny piece of the ceiling in a bag which had some clumps of horse hair in it so I’ve put it in the test bag I ordered and will send it off. But if it comes back positive I’ll probably end up suicidal over it because the debris went everywhere and we would have all been massively exposed. With it being built in 1935 there is no telling whether it did or it didn’t.0

If you were that concerned you’d have got it tested way back in December. I feel this is either attention seeking, or a wind up.
In any case, if any bad was to become of the horse hair and plaster in his mouth event, do you not think whatever bad might happen, would have already happened by now? Like weeks later?0 -

I only started to get concerned AFTER as upon researching further. Yes regrettably wish I did the research sooner. And asbestos related illness take at least 40-60 yeas to develop so I wouldn’t know if it’s affected my son until decades later. The horse hair doesn’t worry me as such it’s the potential asbestos that could be present.0 -
And this isn’t for attention seeking and it’s certainly not a wind up, do you really think I have time for that? This is a genuine thread0

This looks like attention-seeking.
It might be simply the exaggerated way you normally express yourself, but it is totally over the top to suggest you would kill yourself in order to escape the situation and 'protect' your child.0 -

Attention seeking no.. concerned yes.
I didn’t think there would be asbestos in plaster unless it was artex ( we don’t have artex) but upon research on google it says some horse hair plaster contained asbestos. That’s why I got concerned. No attention seeking here0
