  • Morning all :)

Have hit my larder storage top shelf where all items go to be forgotten about.

    Out went
6 Christmas mugs !! never remembered they were there this Christmas!
    Vinegar shaker bottle
    Tiny little vase
Lidded jam jar ! another one
    more birthday paper plates napkins
birthday tablecloth used for my daughters birthday years ago she is now in her middle 20's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am actually quite sad about the whole amount of STUFF i have been cluttering my life up with :(
Not good at all. Have to be positive when this is gone its gone for good and I won't be cluttering up either this house of the next one we move to.

    A few things decluttered today.

    I have got rid of

    A pair of ripped leggings
    A carrier bag of rubbish
    Some stuff to recycling

It's a small start but something. Later on I'm going to sort DS's socks  and my underwear draw :eek:. I would also like to sort the bedrooms but they are all mixed up at the moment. A long story of having to swap around temporarily due to the neighbours noisy, barking dog.. Roll on getting my room back once the problem is dealt with.

Have a good day decluttering everyone.

    Hello all,

I have been lurking on this and the KonMari threads as we have a house stuffed with stuff which I am desperate to shift! I love the idea of the 2019 things to go out in 2019 so please may I join you? I'll try to count recycling the glass bottles as a job lot  rather than individually as I feel that's cheating :rotfl: but as we don't have glass collected from the house, I think I'll start there.

    1. Bag of bottles to the tip
    2. Annoyingly tinny filing cabinet to furniture project.
    3. large wicker basket for logs/laundry
    4. tyre pump to tip - never really worked.
    5. bag of assorted metal bits to tip
    6. broken shredder to tip - we have three more!
    7. box of out-of-date anti-histamines to chemist for disposal
    8. two fabric place mats
    9. half bag of wood chip cat litter (that they hated and refused to go in!) to the heap
10-13 three kitchen knives and a sharpener to CS
14-17. 4 bottles of hotel body lotions gone funny and binned - I should use these nice things when I get them!
18-20 three dead toothpaste tubes, flip tops removed and kept (for pound shop tubes which have the old twist tops)
21 finished toilet rolls - actually 7 had accumulated in the kids bathroom!
    22 unloved dog pull toy
23-25 two bird feeders and a mug shelf returned to shop
26-27 two unsuitable swimsuits returned to shop
28-29 two mrs unused mens gloves
    30 basket
    31 car charger
    32 assorted stationery
33-40 misc unwanted old stocking fillers
    42-44 two woolly hats
    45 pr boxer shorts unclaimed!
    46 unused ice cube tray
    47 magazine
    48-50 surplus kitchen utensils
    51-53 books
54 smelly candle - I do not like these but keep being given them!
    55-56 unused canvas bags
    57 pr slipper socks
    58-61 old pc games

    22-61 all to CS

That brings me up to date for 5.5 a day, I think! So much other stuff to go, including legacy furniture and effects to be distributed around the family around the country and hopefully this is the year they'll all come and pick it up!

Thanks for all the inspiration and motivation in your posts.

    JJ

I haven't got rid of much this week - I've been poorly with a chest infection. I have however sold 2 pieces of plastic [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasure on Ebay so they're going to the post office in a minute. (My money MrsSD - we went halves on the first big lot that sold for a lot but now the fiddling bits are mine), the HT handed me 2 t shirts and a jumper that don't fit him any more - they've gone on the possible Ebay pile and there's a very nasty clock that he was bought for Christmas that is headed for the charity shop.

Next week I am doing the book cupboard of doom. Things get left on the shelves and piled on top of the books and it's a disgrace again.

Its been a slow start to my decluttering year due to me being full of cold.
Have done a couple of bits though, have things that can go to recycling points but keep forgetting so more to be logged as they are done. So far

*9-19 clothes into clothes recycling point
*20 battered big white envelopes into recycling
*21 candle glass lid into recycling
*22 some sort of bobble thingy- now in the bin
*23 plastic tube that had hair stuff in it that was DDs- in recycling
*24 1 rusty razor of DDs binned
Have found things suitable for the CS so will start a bag for the CS next week.
That's about it from me so far
parsniphead sorry things didn't go as planned, hopefully with the chemo u will get that all important decluttering.

Haven't been able to do much in the last couple of days but did manage to dispose of 3 pairs of "Sunday" socks :D. I'm hoping to get going again properly tomorrow :j. I am already eying up some old empty boxes ready to go in the recycling tomorrow. ( DH likes to keep them in case the items don't work and he has to take them back :(. )

Keep up the good work :T

    19) I sold a bag on ebay and posted that today.

I started decluttering my kitchen cupboards and found some alcohol miniatures in one! I have no recollection where these came from, but it would be a shame to waste them...

Wow, such a lot of things getting decluttered! Janejamie, I had to laugh at the unclaimed boxers. D

Seven things gone from here today: I tidied up in the bathroom. I won't get a huge amount done on work days (like today) but hope to make more progress next week when I have days off.

I love this keeping track of how many items we get rid of: if you had asked me I would have thought I'd got rid of about 20 items this year so far but actually it's nearly 100.
