I bought a new set of saucepans from John Lewis around 15 years ago - best purchase ever, they still look as good as new, cook beautifully and "give joy". The old set we had before that weren't great, but just about functional, so we kept them just in case (why?) - 15 years later, they were still taking up space. Relative had old pans that were dropping non-stick into the food_pale_ - so I donated them the OK but not brilliant set.
15 years since last use sounds like deep decluttering, although I have a lot of newer things that will give me more grief to lose.2021 - mission declutter and clean - 0/20210 -
Hello all.
I have been a bit remiss on the decluttering front lately but I have been busy..... honest ! I even missed filling up a cs bag which was put through my door. In my defence your honor....... the bag man only gave 1 whole day to fill it, it was put through on Sat afternoon for collection first thing on Monday morning. What good is that . I also had my DGD here for the weekend so more sorting through the colouring pencils and felt tips ensued :j. About a third went into the bin along with the large art case, which was too badly broken too re-use  .
Today I have been cleaning and clearing some kitchen cupboards. Lots of recycling, re-purposing, re-filling and binning done.
I have collected about 4 items ready for the cs, so the bag is ongoing. I shall try to fill it before the next one arrives through the door, as I'm still miffed that I missed filling the last one .
Bit by bit I was sorry to read about your DSiS. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
MrsSD I see you haven't done much declutteringtut! tut !
. However you are doing such a fine job of cheerleading and encouragement that I will let you off :rotfl:. Plus you now have your DH emptying and sorting the garage, a girl after my own heart :T. Perhaps he will find some clutter that needs disposing on your behalf
:D
Keep the decluttering wagon rolling everyone. You're all doing a fabulous job :T
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
I did a whole load of cleaning today which uncovered lots of little bits and bobs that could be binned - small child artwork, broken small toys and used up toiletries. Every little bit of progress is good!0

I have a question: Do you buy fresh milk? I read many diaries and each time I see: "I need to top up in milk"
We're vegan so we buy Rice Dream, which can be stored in a cupboard. It's a total pain if we run out as only the big supermarkets sell it round here.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

Bit by bit - I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like you'll be a huge help to family.
Just catching up as it's been busy here.
I've been trying to avoid the paperwork but it couldn't wait any longer so I spent a few hours on it today. Managed to reduce the number of folders and they're better organised. OH won't let anything go (lecture notes from 10 years ago!) so I've moved them to a really high cupboard that's a pain to get to.
Also reduced down DD's folders of her artwork. She's thrown a lot away and the rest are nicely displayed in folders now. Also did the same with her letters from her birth family, so they're much nicer to find and read now.
Sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming just how much still needs sorting through but I guess I'll get there in the end.
Plan for tomorrow is to use up some of the bananas in the freezer with a banana cake. Then declutter the cake into my stomach.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%

I just cannot seem to summon up any enthusiasm for a decluttering projectalthough I am still generally following my mantras
Well Done Ginmonster :T isn’t it gratifying when cleaning has the added benefit of decluttering
amycool, I love it - making it difficult for OH to access paperwork that should be decluttered :T Hopefully OH will forget it is there & you will be able to ‘ease it out the door’ Bearing in mind how successful you are being in your decluttering, I know you will get there in the endas will ALL of us
Gem-gem, every little helps :T especially if it is paperwork :T
Well Done chupachups4 :T more pennies in the pot :T

Been busy with TO do not posted in ages but small amount is out of the house
286-290 old socks
291-292 old jumpers to clothes bank.
293 photos
294 paperwork shredded
295 candles used up.
296 book to league of Friends shop.
297 old takeaway container with no lid.
Not a great deal but better than nothing. I had chat with colleague yesterday and she needs to declutter and I said starting was hard but for me tackling a small area like a drawer or small cupboard and do that means it is started. I also said that on second round of the same area you find more to get rid of.0
