2019 - A Clutter Free Life

Five days since I properly reported in.
More spot tidying than decluttering, more spot cleaning than deep cleaning. Assembled my new floor lamp, freeing up three large cardboard boxes. No room in the 'Tardis of Doom' (outside store cupboard).
Thank you for the gold star and encouraging words Mrs Salad Dodger. :kisses: Yes I found the medical appointment letters I was looking for in the last leg of the marathon paperwork cull, and attended both.
Using my magnetic notice boards again, and ordered a Bisley multidrawer unit to organise the documentation that survived the cull. These are both in the clean and tidy end of the 'hall of shame': hoping it will rub off on the doom-laden end!
Decluttering: One small pile of cookery/ healthy eating magazines to the wellbeing centre.
Three dustbin bagfuls of dismantled boxes and packaging from the 'Tardis of Doom' to the communal recycling bins. It was only emptied yesterday morning and the paper/ card section is already a third full!
Recluttering: Ex/ friend released from hospital. Wanting company and support as he sorts his life out.
Five large cardboard boxes back into the 'Tardis of Doom'. Does not look any better.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

A facial wash that doesn't suit me is going to be used up as shower gel.
I used up a face mask, facial scrub and the end of a body lotion last night.
I put some tea tree oil in a squirt bottle to use as a kitchen cleaning spray.
QUOTE=ailz95;75516539] I used to buy 8 - 10 2 litre bottles of sparkling water a week (25p Sainsbury's basics), but after buying activated charcoal I'm not drinking nearly as much.
Why does activated charcoal mean you drink less water?[/QUOTE]

Nice to hear from you MrsSaladDodger. Urgh, technical problems. A nightmare to this old luddite. Glad they fixed them for you.
A very busy day for me. I have been in the sewing/front room. Oh my flipping beck. So far four bin bags of rubbish, a massive pile of towels used for the leak which I still need to get fixed, two broken art cases which I have taken the remaining crayons, felts, etc from, two rolls of interfacing which I have had since1989 and smell musty and a bag of kids shoes which I'm taking to the local cobbler who mends them and send them to people in need abroad.
Now after that lot you would think it done. Nope, nope and a big nope. I've barely scratched the surface. I know what I will be doing tomorrow and I don't relish the idea at the moment.
Oh and to top that off my wheelie bin is full so most of it will need to be taken to the local tip.
Anyway off to pick up DS soon so must go and dust myself off and try to look reasonably presentable, ie make sure my wigs on straight (it often isn't) and not covered in cob webs ( clothes, not the wig).

Pobably because they're making their own tap water palatable instead of buying it...It actually means that I buy less water in plastic bottles as it makes our hard water drinkable
Oh, I see. I didn't know what it was used for.Cherryfudge wrote: »Wednesday 2000, please be careful - tea tree oil isn't suitable for food preparation surfaces. https://www.poison.org/articles/2010-dec/tea-tree-oil
I use it in the sink, I've always used it.:eek:0 -
Helloooo!
Been lurking while sorting out virtual items and getting a bit of overtime. Also doing some life maintenance in terms of ordering a credit report just to see that everything is tickety boo.
Today, 2 books, 1 DVD, 1 women's shirt and 7 children's t-shirts went to a charity shop making my total out 99.
The 7 shirts were important as I realised I wasn't going to use them for an intended project so they may as well be released so some small person can wear them.

So happy to be back :j I couldn’t even read along
What’s up with the weather - gloriously sunny days even if the nights are somewhat chillyA very early spring :T I just hope it lasts
Friday was a busy day - DH thoroughly scrubbed & disinfected all the bird feeders & water bowls + moved the feeding station. He put out the planted pots under the cage he built.
We dropped off 2 bags of donations at CS, picked up package from P.O & he dropped me off at sm for a small shop which ended up being a heavy shop  so it was a struggle to walk homeHe also started on a bike addition
Saturday I cleaned & sorted the last visible cubbyhole + sorted 2 of the wall unit drawers - so only 6 to go
Sunday sorted 3 wall unit drawers :T
Monday sorted 1 Drawer & DH has started building a shelving unit for the kitchen :T
Tuesday was a lazy day as I went out for drinks with a friend.
Today the 2nd wash load is & the 1st has been hung outDH is having a sort out in his office looking for something  so I hope he is decluttering & tidying as he works :rotfl:
Every day have been going on walks by the docks & glorying in seeing the various water birds& keeping my F*tb*t happy :rotfl:
Decluttering is as follows
381 - 406 Nine cardboard boxes, 4 magazines, 5 newspapers, 4” pile of papers etc, glass jar, glass bottle, plastic bottle, plastic jar - Recycled
407 - 413 Four Uu batteries, broken remote, Uu paint pot, old paint brush - into Tip bag
414 - 418 Two Uu pens, 3 lots of plastic packaging - Binned
419 - 432 Concertina file, 13 paper crafting bits - CS bag

Yeah MrsSD is back :j. I wondered where you were but I thought you'd just sneaked off on holiday :rotfl:
Today I have removed DH's tools from my gardening shed, including 2 workmates  and they are now all back where they belong in his shed/workshop !
I cleared my shed before cleaning it and binned of lots of rags, bits of wood, plastic, hoses, electric wires etc. The empty jam jars and plastic bottles have been recycled and I've also put 2 old washing up bowls ready for the tip, as they are not much good for anything else........ I think they've had cement in them.
I found quite a few plastic plant pots and large planters that I will offer first to DD for her school, if they are not wanted they will be sent to the tip too, unless I can find someone else who wants them.
I found half a bag of compost which has gone on the garden, a box of grass seed and a box of weed n feed have been binned, as they have got wet and had soggy bottoms :rotfl:. Now all my gardening tools are in their correct places and I have room to walk in there, instead of climbing over DH's tools first.
I still have my DIY shed to sort through, but that will have to wait a while. As the saying goes " Rome wasn't built in a day "
Happy decluttering all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
