What is it with Ebay -silly "improvements" making things worse ??

What is it with Ebay -silly "improvements" making things worse ??

I've used Ebay for years.
Most things worked perfectly well.

But Ebay heep changing silly things for some reason, who knows why !!!???

Obviously some Ebay employee has had a brainwave & they change little things for some reason without thinking.

1) "You Won" confirmation emails don't contain ANY seller information anymore.
No seller ID, no item no.
I use the Seller ID or item number to search my emails.

2) On Paypal, you cannot pay for multiple ebay items in one payment.

3) You Save an Ebay listing, you get a load of gumph in the title, ebay categories -why, which does not include item number.

Before you only had the relevant item details.

Its all "to improve the buying experience"....

Which is a euphemism for "raising our revenue"

They're at it again, they've changed the way the Search results are displayed.

I want to see the Completed Listings from a seller.
Can't find how to display what I want !!

I'm looking at the items for sale from a seller.
They used to have check boxes on the left, one to select Completed Listings.

    They have blxxdy disappeared !!

Do I have time to find it, do I have time to reinvent the wheel ??

Sorry ebay, like other website redesigns by your web gurus, I don't have the time to be used as a guinea pig.

Haven used E-Bay for a while, i find it annoying that you see something, for say £50, so you bid say £52, and immeadiatly find that someone has posted a maximum amount, say £60, so the amount shown ie £50 is not valid.
Also when, say there is an item that comes ups frequently, and sells say for an average £80, why do some people bid, say £90?

    That's how auctions work.

That's the ebay proxy bid system in action, The first bidder may have put a high bid in, but if the starting price was only 99p, they will show as the high bidder at that price. eBay will keep matching subsequent bidders' entries until the original price has been beaten.

Because £90 is the maximum they are willing to pay.

Congrats! you,me, and 10% of ebayers are taking part in ebay's new search format trial. Loads of unhappy ebayers have given their views on ebay community boards and they all say the same NEw format is awful.I read on one of the boards that you can opt out of the trial but can't find the opt out button on my ebay. I have sent 3 emails over the past 2 days 1 telling them my views and the other 2 begging to get my old ebay back. I don't want to trial it but it seems that I have no option.

    hi pinkgem
found this on ebay uk community board.

1 visit this http://shopebay.com/ - click opt out

2 clear cookies from your browser

    3 close browser and reopen

4 if you're lucky and don't get picked again - should be back to normal

Haven't tried this myself as I don't know how to clear cookies but I'll get OH to try when he comes in.
can you let everyone know if this works?
    thanks:confused:
