Flylady flippin scared me! As did the Mari Kondo woman:eek:
However...........lovely thread on here that started with Mari Konod idea and is now a really friendly supportive group of people not all of whom follow the KM methods....me included but have lots of lovely supportive ideas. Must admit I have a lovey drawer of folded knickers and colour coded socks a la KM but I am not a convertI have been on a declutter journey for years and am now well practised....the one thing is not to get too hung up about it and do it your own pace, ask for help when needed and learn to say goodbye. I will not just dump anything. It has to be passed on or sold or recycled. That is my only rule...otherwise a couple of skips about 4 years ago would have sorted it :rotfl: Moving house is a great motivator........you really do not want to be hauling extra stuff half way across the country
thank you so much its surprising how many people understand
yes fly lady did scare me too. As for folder knickers and bras me too I also love to ranger roll mu towels etc slightly different but airing cupboard looks brilliant
if you watched hoarders at any point two of my rooms got to about half as bad as those house - no wild life though (well only the hubby) but those two are sorted as are many clothes - all my friends children have had so much craft stuff each one mum said perhaps she should move too one pair of sisters even got one of my sewing machines and a bag of fabric :rotfl::rotfl:
I should have kept some things to alter but they have all gone to good homes - my favourite charity shop in town has been restocked by me - in fact they asked me how I could be bringing in so much - I told them a fib (for my own sanity I wont call it a lie but it was) that my friend had had to empty a property and that I was movingEmergency fund £10,000

I don't mind that as the tone is always supportive and I would just forget/ ignore my cards, and I started FlyLady with the book before the emails etc came in, but I can see that if the emails are likely to make you anxious it makes sense to not volunteer for them.
I might swap at some point but as of this time I am not really ready for fly lady I will do as Choccy says and take it a bit at a time. xxEmergency fund £10,000

Good to see your lists Aaleigha, you might not feel it but I can see the difference. You seem to have a new get up and go and I think you're doing great. They might only be little jobs, but each one you cross of is a step closer to your beautiful house in Wales. Lists are a great way to release the stress from your mind. I've always got to do list, but sometimes don't look at it for days. I know it's there waiting and it stops me going over and over it my mind so I don forget things.
My to do list
- 2 boxes of paper to sort
- tax return to doFinally Debt Free 24/4/20230 -
Morning Aaleigha, just popping in to say I hope you have a nice weekend. Every job crossed off your list is a positive. Even if you just do 3 a day it means you'll get through 21 things in a week
Keep going, you're doing great. x

as you can see not too many things to do on the list as I am sure monday morning I will be carrying things forward
thanks for popping in when I have had no internet - I am with what was orange - bt working in the street to very intermittent so I have not been able to get online to do the many things I wanted to do
I wanted to print off the sock pattern I lost so I can knit a pair of socks while I read a book in the evenings
so now I have done that and downloaded a calculator so I thought I would make some socks for the baby of the family (only baby we have my step great niece- she is also the nearest to a grandchild I will have as neither of mine want to have children)
these days socks dont sound frugal but I buy yarn in bulk and buy it myself - a little side money maker for me - not a huge amount. But hand knitted socks are so much nicer than than bought ones in the winter
hope everyone is ok going to post this while I have internet
I usually go to post and its kicked me off
so now I am reading and writing in word then cut and paste it
thanks loveliesEmergency fund £10,000
