I haven't been doing any Christmas related stuff recently apart from the cross stitch picture for my auntie, but I did pop to Tesco this morning to stock up on their 75p easter eggs. So everyone is going to get a boxed egg then i'm going to make some Mars bar nests with Wiggle and some hot cross buns. I might pop some daffodils in the ladies bags too. I've also made a big stack of pancakes to have for tea tonight, oh I do love a good pancake!
  • have been messing around making skincare the past couple of days and aroma sprays. I am thinking of making them as gifts this year for Christmas. Calming spray and relaxing foot salts gift sets I am thinking for stocking fillers.

Sorted out under the bed and found so many rolls of Christmas wrapping paper I could open a shop with the amount I have stashed away. On stock take I only need three special cards to get this year. Have enough boxed cards to last until next year. I have got a book of second class stamps in my Christmas gift book ready before price hikes.

i usually have a box or two under the bed with some gifts by now but i just cant seem to find much in sales this year. I have my grans birthday this month and mothers day yet i am so unorganised with them too. I am going to get a few bottles of shower gel tomorrow to keep in gift stash throughout the year.

    Hope everyone is ok

Morning. Thank you everyone for your supportive words. I’m not feeling quite as bad as last week, but I have some good days and bad. I went to the doctor and got my prescription changed to something else. Just waiting for them to take effect. But in the last few weeks I didn’t even want to help myself. I made no attempt to be positive or look after myself. Over the weekend I’ve tried to take some time out for me and read some positive books. I also have holidays coming up at the end of March. Not going anywhere, but I’m hoping having those 2 weeks to get on top of the house and spend time with the kids will be good.

  • Treasurequeen those homemade gifts sound lovely.

nic glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better. It’s so hard to find the motivation to even look after yourself sometimes when you feel like that, hopefully your new prescription will help soon too. Having two weeks off will hopefully give you chance to recuperate a little bit.

Not much is going on here apart from my decluttering, although I feel a bit like I’m banging my head against a brick wall – so much is going out of the house and not much is coming in yet it still seems to look cluttered and a bit messy! I am no Marie Kondo that’s for sure….:rotfl: I think I just need to organise things a bit better and get some better storage.

The only Christmassy things happening here, is me just getting round to scraping the stupid fake snow off my windows! I actually considered just leaving it til next year! I’ve warned the kids I’m never getting it again. I had it on the 2 front bedroom windows and the 2 glass panels on my kitchen and living room door. The landlady was due round, so it had to come off. She always has a wee comment about something.

I finally called the landlady about the water coming in the french doors in my room. The strong winds had blown the rain under the door. In one night I went through 8 towels. They were dripping wet each time. I hardly stepped all week. I kept putting off calling her as I should have done it back in November. I feel better knowing she is going to replace the doors.

Things are a bit more settled here. Still have some down days. But I feel more on an even keel.

  • On the Christmas front i managed to get a lovely sea glass pendant for brothers fianc!. She wants to be a marine conservationist so I thought it was fitting. She Can't say I'm not trying. I will put it in a nice box and that will do as a token gift, it came in under my budget too. But Its so nice I was tempted to keep it myself.

I have saved a good chunk of money for christmas already in savings account. Mostly from cashing in cashback site earns.

    Hope everyone is ok x

  • Very quiet here at the moment, but then again there is probably not much prep that we can do just yet.

I have bought my first gift, a make up bag from Next with her initial on it for my niece. Will pick up bits of makeup through the year to fill it for her. It was her birthday last week and I had managed to get the Ciate deal which was on here. £100 odd worth of lip gloss for £25, she was very happy!

Got £1,000 worth of dental treatment ahead of me, so need to plan things carefully. Never had a toothache before, raging abscess & the x-ray revealed that root canal work (I know that I should have felt pain, but got high threshold) that was done by a previous practice was not done completely,so actually have 1/2 a live root. As the tooth is crowned, it will require specialist treatment and I have now become a teaching case, probably on what not to do! Alternative is extraction, but that would entail other treatment costing £3,500:eek:

    Hope all doing well.

The cost of dentistry is phenomenal. My 'nephews' wife is a dental nurse and was telling me how much their practice takes in each week. l was amazed.
Just been on a weekend break to Wales with fave cos. what a lovely place, we had summer sunshine and warm temperatures all weekend.
New baby was here yesterday, and DGN lots of cuddles and smiles, (and chocolate fingers.)
Treat myself to a beautiful amethyst ring while we were away, hand made, to order, the silversmith was a real character, and entertained us with tales of the village. Better than the tourist information guide.
Now back home to an empty house, DGS1 and DD are on holibobs to Devon with his dad, his girlfriend and her mum. Away a whole week, aargh.
Good news (for me,) l have electricity in my greenhouses, plants can stay warm and grow big.
But now l have to go shopping, no food in the cupboards, nothing Christmassy to report, oh yes there is, l got Dgnephew2 a lovely winter jacket reduced from £39 to £7 in the Deb'n*ms sale, green with dragons teeth on the hood and spines all down the back. xxx
