Ginmonster We had a power cut yesterday and the HT got dressed in case the zombies were coming :rotfl: He and his friends spend a fair amount of time discussing their apocalypse plans.
What's the appropriate attire for battling zombies? I'm clearly not putting enough thought into this. 😂
I've another spend of £3.50 to fess up to today as I popped into Poundland looking for cereal containers but ended up buying a box of branflakes for 50p, 2 small Cadbury selection boxes for 50p each and 2 bags of walnuts for £1 each which were half price solely because they said Christmas on the front. I'll use them in my morning porridge so I'm pleased as that's a good price for decent sized bags.

Budgets updated to here
I am LOVING how supportive everyone is being to each other, and how much the thread has taken off! I need to reconcile everything again, I've done my usual and gone "off piste" so not sure where I am spends wise. Have all my receipts though, so just need to sort out. I am living out of the freezer for dinners this week, with fresh veg I have in. Breakfasts I have fruit and yoghurt, which I am having with toasted quinoa this week for a change from oats! (It's very tasty but don't half get stuck in your teeth!!) For lunch today and tomorrow I have "bowls" - basically salad bits including some lovely YS beetroot I found in Mr T (horseradish and lemon I think), and also some YS Vivera Pulled Veggie from my freezer which I bought YS to 38p a pack - BARGAIN. and some butter beans and seeds. Thursday I am off work as it's my birthday and I'm out for lunch (before Sl1mming W0rld, LOL!) so I may not have breakfast, perhaps a banana to tide me over. Then for tea after SW I'll have something from the freezer. I have enough fruit and yoghurt and bits for a random lunch bowl on Friday, and then will reassess what I need fresh for my final week of the month.
Can I just recommend A1di's "Bistro Salad" bags - they are something like 68p and have red chard, lambs lettuce and beetroot shreds in them - really really tasty (Lamb's Lettuce is one of my favourite leaves!) and a bargain!

This week's shopping has been done. Freezer inventory has been updated accordingly (there wasn't much to add). I had a £6 off £30 spend for Sainsburys and the HT gave me £10 to buy him some pens/pencils and other bits for school (it's not mean, he gets a pension from the M.O.D until he finishes his education so he pays for equipment himself). Sainsburys didn't have much of the food stuff that I wanted so I bought the stationery from there as it was reduced and the posh cat fud was also on offer so I spent £27.96 after coupons/vouchers.
Asda next to finish off the shopping. They did have the stuff that I wanted (but mysteriously no tinned potatoes still - doesn't matter, sainsbugs had plenty). Total spend in there was £24.42 so total shopping £52.38 less £10 from HT (his kit was £6.70 so I spent the other £3 on posh ice cream also for him) is £42.38 for the week.
I've added £5 to the freezer fund and £5 to the celebration fund, updated my signature and there's £10.02 left in my grocery money purse. I'm happy with that.
Ginmonster he usually wanders round in his pjs or boxers and a t-shirt. Obviously that's unsuitable if the zombies come due to lack of pockets......:rotfl:0 -
Big shop done in Mr al on Sunday and extras in m9rries.
The nipped to tosco on way into work on Monday for some cereal bars. Also got wrapping paper down to 4p a roll. Lol.
Am now at 287/350. No more big shops now and am meal planned for this and next. The last week of the month will mainly be using up and freezer diving. Nothing wrong with that!0 -
£32.61 at T's which takes me to £48.86/£100 for the month... plenty of tinned restocking though, so quite happy with that.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

We spent £36.13 since last post.
For dinner I'm having vegetable curry.
Not sure what OH is going to have, probably noodles, soup or cheese toastie.
£152.67/£200.
£47.33 left.
Yeah we've ploughed through the budget some. However I have a meal plan for the whole month and only a few vegetables and fruits will be needed by me as working through fridge and freezer. OH has loads in the freezer and cupboards and will need only a few fresh bits himself like milk, bread, eggs and the odd vegetable so we should be fine.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -

Hi all
Mr A online shop total £80.67
Taking me to £153.73/£300
£146.27 left in my budget which I think is totally doable if I continue to focus!I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
I did a freezer inventory this morning and repacked the freezer so I now know what I have and where it all is. I then made quorn spag bol and quorn chilli. The HT had spag bol for his tea - I'm not well (chest infection and asthma) and couldn't face any after cooking it so I had a poached egg on toast....
Hopefully I can make a sensible shopping list now. This is usually my last "stock up" shop in case of awful winter weather. I like to try and run the stocks down from now through to the end of summer then start again September/October.
Ginmonster I've been buying stuff that I know we'll use if it's on special offer as a Brexit/zombie apocalypse measure. We had a power cut yesterday and the HT got dressed in case the zombies were coming :rotfl: He and his friends spend a fair amount of time discussing their apocalypse plans.
Cranky this did make me laugh :rotfl: just the sort of thing my ds would do.
Another NSD today, mainly because I’ve been so busy and out all day at work and then on a course. Came home late and dh treated us to a takeaway, really shouldn’t have but I’m so exhausted and he was paying so....
Will need to pop into the shop tomorrow as we seem to be out of milk AGAIN. God knows where it’s all going, that’s at least 10 x 4 pint cartons in the past 7 days, I’m almost tempted to put a lock on the fridge!GC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100 -
Had a few spends and now up to £36.97. Bought veggies, houmous, M&S plant kitchen meal and I too have been stocking up on some tins and stuff for my BB - 'Brexit Box', as it looks like there will be no deal after May's monumental defeat - the biggest in the history of parliament. I really don't foresee any problems, as supermarkets have been stock piling for 2 years in preparation, but watching the 'trial brexit lorry runs' beggars belief, what an absolute bunch of plonkers we have in charge, so I'm just gonna have a few extra stores of pulses, lentils, tinned potatoes, rice, quinoa, bulgar wheat, pasta, stock cubes, pasata, tomato puree - most of which I have in my pantry already and not expecting to spend more than £20/£30 in total. "It's easy to be an optimist, if you have a contingency plan for when all hell breaks loose" - some clever so n so said. I'm sure all will be well, but i've decided to be somewhat prepared.0
