  • I have spent £25.74 in the last week, this includes £7.50 on cat food. I had a £4 off £20 coupon for Waitrose so bought some mince and fish on the 3 for £10 offer. I am planning to streeetch it out over the next couple of weeks. Today I got a granary loaf for 10p just as the local baker was closing. They have a shelf of reduced bread and cakes every day at about 4pm.
Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget
  • Struggling !! Placed an order with musclefood as doing slimming world and their meat is just so tasty and lean. I won’t use it al this month but I’m charging it all to this month. If I go over then maybe my budget needs to be a bit higher. We are 3 adults and to be fair we have all taken lunches and eaten at home most nights which is quite unusual. We will see how it goes so I’m now £221.94/£250
5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

    Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
    By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.00
  • £2.74 to go back into my budget as some of the tinned fruit in the Mr A delivery was bashed so I gave them back to the driver. I'll pick some up when I'm feeling up to going out.

Well, I've had a few spends over the last couple of days, only on bits like cat food, milk, milk and more milk, on top of the normal shop the other day so I'm on £48.85 for the week. One more day to go and hopefully another £15 in the tin!

    Will update sig.

I hope this zombie apocalypse doesn't involve them coming for my brexit stock of corned beef and fray bentos pies! :rotfl:

  • Have felt really under the weather lately, meal planning has gone right by the way, I just think it’s better to eat what you want when unwell! On the plus side I’ve been too ill to eat loads so still on track budget wise...

I’m undecided whether to stock up pre-brexit, probably will get some extra dry goods and tins in during feb.

    Hi guys
Just checking in. £100.24/£2000 spent so far of my yearly budget. I shouldn’t need to shop next week because my fridge, cupboards and freezer are as full to the brim. It’s like food jenga at mealtimes juggling stuff about.
I’ve quite a bit of fresh stuff that will need using first so I see stuffed mushrooms, cauliflower cheese and a few potato based meals in the next few days. The temperature has dropped like a stone here so they will be most welcome.
    Anyway better get on
    Keep warm and well guys

I've been the same since I've been poorly, never know what I am going to fancy and not really eating very much. Seem to fancy poached eggs a lot, lemon sorbet or ginger biscuits...not sure that's a good combination....lol. On the plus side I am definitely not spending much money this month, even OH hasn't been eating as much.
The Brexit dilemma is hard isn't it? Don't want to go mad as it could all be for nothing, but then on the other hand, don't want to suddenly find we are short of essentials. Also if the prices suddenly rocket, will we wish we had bought them in previously? Not really got a lot of spare cash to buy in loads
