  • After a few rocky/false starts, I now have a temp job for a few months.

    The role I started in Aug I hated and after one day I took the very brave decision of not going back. I did not make the choice lightly.

    So fast forward a few months of Job interviews bit of temping and general scrapping by, I now have a temp job for 3 months, or there abouts.

    I have been there two weeks, I am loving it and the days and weeks have flown by!

    I really should do an update Statement of affairs. Hopefully I can reduce my debts a wee bit, It is a wonderful feeling knowing I will be able to pay the bills without struggling and buy food and a present or two for Christmas.

    Future is looking bright :)

    Today I sorted out my tax code was on a strange code with a W1 at the end!

    I take home roughly £308.00 a week after tax, but this might change now I have changed my tax code.

    Have worked out roughly;

    £110.00 - Rent and a bit towards arrears which are £1,322.00
    £30.00 Council Tax

    £100.00 towards bills and a Credit card

    Leaving £60.00 a week for food and fuel

    Hoping to catch up on my council tax and Gas bill which is £55.00 in arrears.

    My bills are (a month);

    Elec £30
    Gas £25
    Water £25
    Mobile £16.00
    Internet £22.99
    icloud 0.79p
    Netflix £5.99

    Car tax is £120.00 a year
    Insurance I paid in one hit with a tax rebate.

    TV - I broke the remote cannot turn the thing on so cancelled the licence!

    Credit cards I owe;

    £3040.00 to virgin
    £2946.59 to MBNA

    Both now with debt collection agencies

    Halifax £1,617.59 at 22.45%

    Going to tackle the Gas, Halifax, CT and rent arrears then look at the two with debt collectors!

    I can and will do this :)

    Just remember your rent & council tax are priority debts & need to take priority :)

    Thank you, and yes.

    My rent is £101.59 a week, I am paying £110.00 a week £8.41 towards the arrears or £33.64 a month towards the arrears. Might need to call my landlord and see if this amount needs to change now I am working as a payment of £31.78 was agreed while on UC.

    Paid day today, so paid:

    Rent £110.00
    Counil Tax £25.00
    Gas £15.00
    Elec £10.00
    Halifax Credit card £50.00 payment is/was due today ad the min was £45 something.

    It is such a relief being paid, such a simple thing yet when you struggled for reasons unbeknown to yourself to secure a job it is a massive weight of my mind for the time being.

    Fingers crossed I catch up with a few bills and if/when this temp job comes to an end I find a job asap I like working and being paid! :D

    Oh I do love the days in between paying what is due and the interest going onto the balance of the credit card, makes it look like it is heading the right direction!

    Halifax balance is £1,567.59.

    Do wish I had a 'spare' £7.59 to round it down to £1,560.00 alas mobile bill is due out soon, and I think interest goes on on Friday. Maybe if I pop it over before breakfast on Friday.

    Feeling positive atm :)

    Yesterday was payday again :)

    So paid;
    £110.00 rent
    £25.00 Council Tax
    £25.00 Water
    £10.00 Elec

    Have the mobile phone bill £16.00 and netflix £5.99 and Broadband £22.99 coming out this week

    Halifax credit card balance is at £1,587.05

    Rent account hasn't update yet, so unsure of arrears there, quick maths I 'think' i am now £825.00 is arrears, online thing is saying £1.406.78 minus the £440.00 UC rent payment for 3rd Nov - 4th Dec, £31.78 they allocate towards rent arrears and this weeks rent I paid £110.00 = £825.00 the add mondays rent £101.59 = £926.59

    So either 825 or 926.59 in arrears! its going down and under the 1k mark :)

    Then the two credit cards are still the same
    £3040.00 to virgin
    £2946.59 to MBNA

    Council tax I am again unsure of what is owed as the last letter I received was based on income between 4th Nov and 3rd dec, Have been paying £25.00 a week since I started earning, so think I am spot on with the payments. Will find out soon enough
