    Thanks for all the replies.

Yes it's a 6 year old Fiesta - but it has extremely low mileage for its age (less than 20,000) and is immaculate inside and out (I've always look after my cars!) And has a few ST upgrades so I'm just trying to do my best to protect it from theives as I'm moving house, and unfortunately where I'm moving to doesn't have a garage so it will be parked on a driveway.

    It's not keyless.

I know nothing will protect it from possibly being a target - I just wanted to add an extra form of security as a deterrent.

A friend of mine recommended a tracker or some other device that you can track to your phone - but I'm not too sure how that works either.

    Thanks.

I dont know if this is true or how it works, but I've been told my neighbour has a device fitted to his car such that even if you have the key it wont start until you press a (defined by the user) combination of internal controls, indicator, headlights, etc
    isn't that OCD?

Ask the person who gave you the recommendation to explain how it works, particularly in relation to your phone. ;)

Have you considered the installation of retractable security bollards?

You have, of course, advised your insurance provider of those?

A decent forum will recommend you install a one decoy. These and similar Ford's seem.to suffer quite badly.
  • Just get a disklok if you're that worried about it, but on something like your car it'll probably be cost effective not to bother much past that. My car has more security on it now, but it was a pretty common target for thieves at the time I got it, so was needed added.

Pedal box safe.. oh my... I bet that wont pass H&S tests.

Look at those nice edges to chop into your feet/legs in a crash.

Clumsy and poorly thought out with massive safety issues.

Had a key made recently and the guy said he would avoid current keyless entry/start vehicles.

His equipment can code a key using the OBD port but it takes time, from 8 minutes to approx an hour on most cars. So a thief would need leave his kit linked to the OBD port before he could drive it away.
