You've misunderstood why I said interest in this case, after years of silence, is obviously unreasonable.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

With a Claim Issue Date of 31st January, you have until Tuesday 19th February to do the Acknowledgement of Service, but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it. To do the AoS, follow the guidance offered in a Dropbox link from post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
Having done the AoS, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 5th March 2019 to file your Defence.
That's over a month away - but it's a short month. Loads of time to produce a perfect Defence, but don't leave it to the very last minute.
When you are happy with the content, your Defence should be filed via email as suggested here:-
Print your Defence.
- Sign it and date it.
- Scan the signed document back in and save it as a pdf.
- Send that pdf as an email attachment to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk
- Just put the claim number and the word Defence in the email title, and in the body of the email something like 'Please find my Defence attached'.
- Log into MCOL after a few days to see if the Claim is marked "defended". If not chase the CCBC until it is.
- Do not be surprised to receive a copy of the Claimant's Directions Questionnaire, they are just trying to put you under pressure.
- Wait for your DQ from the CCBC, or download one from the internet, and then re-read post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to find out exactly what to do with it.

Nope, the 8% is correct - standard court rate. Reasonable normally...

So, as i see it, i have received a letter from them saying i owe them X, with no proof, a reply from me asking for proof, their confirmation to provide proof, then filing a claim without providing proof.
Asking for:
Original Fee £80
Interest £20
'Contractual costs purusant to PCN Terms and Conditions' £60
Then:
Court Fee £25
Legal Representatives Costs £50
The more I read about BWLegal, the more I think they are complete idiots.
Their rubbish must be stopped and you must issue a serious complaint to the SRA,

BWLegal are not fit for purpose and to try to add interest on an unproven debt because their stupid client did nothing for years ?? very pathetic and the question should be raised in court
The fake £60 claim? ...... so let them prove this from the signs or are they relying on tiny print ???
BWLegal claim to have some 280 staff but hey .... Poundland had more than that but they went bust
They are on the bucket list0 -
Should my defence focus on the fact they are inept and haven't provided me with any evidence, or do i need to use a different tactic?0

I'm sure the courts realise they are inept, we certainly do.
The point is that their agent has yet to provide you with their proof of the claim, you have asked BWLegal to hold this until such info is received and they refused
This is unreasonable behaviour and as you are not in receipt of the information their clients hold, how can you properly defend this and as such you ask the court to strike out the claim0
