I watched the TV show of little fires and was underwhelmed, was surprised as usually like that kind of thing (Big Little Lies, I really liked).
Watching Reacher at the mo, DH likes the violence, I like the nice tall man that plays the leadDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Went out for a lovely dinner with friends last night, which was so nice... chat turned to finances and a couple of them mentioned savings. They all had so much saved! Not all about quantity in £, but they all had a few months salary saved as a minimum. One had 18 months worth saved
Definitely slacking in that department!
Subjects also covered energy bills, period pants (never even knew these were a thing?), how entitled our teenagers are, chuckling at the loved up couples around us (in a friendly way, more like a 'just you wait' kind of way), that kind of thingDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Seeing lots of mentions of Reacher at the moment - mostly in connection with the nice tall man that plays the lead, funnily enough...
I really enjoyed the Reacher books - always look out for any I've not read in the charity shop - shamefully I'm afraid I didn't even know that Little Fires Everywhere was adapted from a book though!
Might just have added Reacher to my Prime watchlist....purely in the interests of research you understand....🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Eldest DD turns 18 soon... in lieu of an extortionate party, we've bought her festival tickets (£250).
We're struggling to come up with a budget for her gift(s).... I'd like to get her a nice piece of jewellery that she can keep and wear for years to come and some other smaller bits. I think it's going to be around £400-500 mark, but seems excessive considering festival tickets on top.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

My girl is 18 next month. She is getting some new DM boots, £161! Also getting cake made by a proper baker. She has bought her own festival day ticket. She is getting money from both sets of grandparents and her trust fund. We may get her a couple of other cheap bits, she isn't into jewelry at all (I still wear the ring I got for my 18th) and we are going to a theme park a couple of weeks before which she loves.
We are thinking of having a family meal out with both sets of grandparents, she isn't one to meet up with friends much either.
Most of the money she will get is being saved for uni costs. Still hasn't heard from the hard to get into London one! I need to know for my budget and sanity.....Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4 -
