  • Don’t touch YourRepair.

Very quick to take your money but have an exclusion clause in the small print for most things. Recently paid £120 for three minute engineer visit to tell me a heat exchanger needed replacing followed by a “courtesy call” to tell be this is not included ! Combination gas boiler are only a collection of several parts pump, gas valve, two heat exchangers, pcb, fan, expansions vessel and a couple of valves not to cover such a major part is a total con.

Please don’t advertise Your Repair, I chose them two years ago under your advice, only to find out today that my two annual services, were just inspections, they don’t do a real service. They don’t open up the boiler to clean it thoroughly like they do in Europe, they just take a look and in 10 mins they’re out. Plus they put the wrong  brand and location of my boiler in both certificates. My boiler is in the loft, they marked it as it’s in the kitchen so those certificates are invalid if I were to sell the house.
I called Homeserve today because I thought I had a problem with the heating system only to find out that Yourrepair never serviced the boiler or they would have spotted the elevated pressure and the danger the 3 faults my boiler has, that could cause it to explode. Please choose someone else, these people just take your money and they can’t even figure out where the boiler is located! Plus they increased the monthly cost over more than double, no reason, no extra services, just because they could and because I didn’t see their emails at time of renewal so now I’m stuck with them. Good Lord!  Choose HomeServe over these clowns.

Pretty sure I've mentioned this earlier in the thread but the best option is to select a local reputable small company that offers a boiler/central heating/hot water cover. I've tried some of the big boys and their service was often poor. My neighbour had a similar experience until she went with a local outfit which has provided a responsive and competent level of service - and in fact, corrected problems left by national company gas "engineers".

Local outfits have reputations to protect. Nationals don't give a fig about individual customers because their expensive advertising attracts new customers which tends to counteract loss of existing customers due to poor quality of service. If in doubt, check out Trust Pilot and other reviews.
