Hi All

My father found a share certificate for Viglen technology from late 1990s. I have tried to research this on the internet and I can see that all the shares were bought up by someone and the company name was changed. If he still has these certificates and never received the payment when they were bought up is there anything that can be done with them? Are they worth anything?

When my shares in thompson were forcible bought, they sent me a cheque whether I liked it or not. If he didnt cash that then I guess you speak to their registrars and ask, I dont know which but try asking a few of them

I hold paper shares in a US company & wish to sell them....my Bank advised me it'll cost around £50 & take 8-10 wks to settle?! Is there a quicker/cheaper way to trade?
I do not hold any other shares & I'm unlikely to trade again anytime soon.

Hi everyone.

I'm looking to invest in some specific shares. I would like to do this on line for as little as possible.
I would not be investing regularly and would like to keep the fees low. I do not need investment advice (He says that now .....)

What I would like is zero monthly fees, zero transfer fees, and minimal transaction fees. No monthly minimum deals etc. I would only be investing a small amount of money. I'm just not sure of the cheapest way to do this.

What would be some good sites to look at.

owch. Ask Halifax how much they would charge or TD waterhouse.

I asked about a USA paper share recently and I was told £300 to issue a certificate so maybe it is that bad

Rob - Halifax has lots of deals like I posted previously however for selling they usually charge 11.95 I think it is where as XO or similar have a cheaper standard fee and neither has sub fees

No, I wouldn't have thought so, that's not bad. You could try other banks, I don't think they care whether you're already their customer or not.

Hope I'm posting in the right place.
Can anyone tell me anything about these new IPO Royal Mail Shares? Are they worth investing in? Any pros? Any cons?
I'm really clueless about investing in shares but I'm sure I've read somewhere that IPOs are usually worth buying??
I have looked elsewhere on MSE about these Royal Mail Shares but can't find any information.
