ive recently put my Vodafone sim card into a new iPhone X, from my older iPhone 6. Ive today put a cheap PAYG sim from O2 into the iPhone 6 to unlock it, as it was/is locked to Vodafone.
Dad called me just now, on my usual number (now in the iPhone X), but both mobiles rang???
Any idea how this is please?
Also, does this now mean my locked iPhone 6 (to Voda), is now unlocked, because it rang with the O2 sim in it? I applied to Voda to unlock it, got a long email telling me what to do, but didnt even do anything yet, just put the O2 sim in it??

Unlocking an iPhone means just making some correction in Apple's database, not in the phone.0 -
Ref Both phones ringing...
If on wifi then I wonder if its probably something to do with Apple ID being the same on both.
I think my iPad rings under certain circumstances when on the same wifi as my iPhone and that doesnt have a sim in it.
If you turn wifi off on the old phone with the new payg 02 sim installed, ring the 02 number and it does ring - then its definitely not locked to Voda..Also, does this now mean my locked iPhone 6 (to Voda), is now unlocked, because it rang with the O2 sim in it? It will be because you will be signed in on both phones with the same ID on the same WIFI.
Settings > Phone > Calls on other devices > Allow calls on other devices
If that is off it will stop happeningI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

If i log out of Apple ID on my old phone, what will that prevent me using? I'm planning on keeping the old iPhone 6 for holidays overseas, as I usually get a loacl sim card with data allowance when in Asia0 -

You don't need to log out if you just want to turn off both phones ringing just disable in Settings > Phone > Calls on other devices > Allow calls on other devices, but if you do log out you can still use the phone as normal.
Just stops you using imessage, downloading from the app store and things like that on that device.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
