Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 9th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning. Day off for me today... Not back to work until Monday 1300.
Plenty to do around the place though. Got to clean the chickens out. Tidy up some. Get some e-bay items logged on.... Etc. pottering is the term I think.
Finished off my working week with a nice steak and bottle of wine last night.
On the way home I passed the petrol station and was a little depressed to see the prices have risen again... They seem to be going up daily!!! Then food is ASDA had gone up. It's big jumps though. Single cream from 28p to 40p. It's going to be a challenge to shop about now just to get reasonable prices.
Well time to get the coffee pot on... Have a nice day

Morning N9eav & all who crosspost & follow
Hubby's not working today, the weather is to bad. That means I can leave the WM DW for him to unload & I can spend a bit longer on here.
I went to WI last night & paid my joining fee, £27 for the year. I also bought a WI calender, no not that sort, the Berkshire one, they have the photograph on the bottom & they tear off & can be used as a post card.
DS popped in to see me last night, he's car mad and always tweaking bits on his car to make it go faster, he started to tell me how he wanted to know just how fast his car would go & my heart sank, thinking of him racing along a motorway being stupid, but then I realised he was explaining the route he'd taken to go to an official race day at a race track & he'd taken his car there to test the speed, so I'm now very proud of him for being so sensible.
I'm off to work soon, have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Work today, not too bad finish at 2, but I think I have the first stirrings of a sore throat coming  , just in time for the weekend.
Chilli rice and poppadums for tea, and maybe a glass of wine seeing as its friday.
DD and her freind are going to walk around the shops after school for an hour, so don't pick her up till 5, so have a couple of hours to myself later, I am sure I will find some washing or cleaning to keep me busy,
Have good days all xxx

Morning everyone:hello:
I love Fridays - especially the after school bit, no clubs or activities to ferry them to, no packed lunches to get ready for the next day, no homework to nag about, not my turn to supervise dd's bath + bed, wine (doesn't have to be Friday for that), lie in tomorrow and today we're watching the fireworks which were cancelled on Sunday :j
Ds2 will be back from his field trip this afternoon -that means lots of washing. I've missed him.
I have my French class later this morning which is good fun. Must pop to Tesco/Waitrose and the butcher first though.
Breakfast -porridge
Lunchboxes -pitta pizza, ginger biscuits and clementines (trying to convince Ds1 he likes them:rolleyes:)
Supper -something mincey- probably Keema plus rice. A pudding of some sort to celebrate Ds2's return.
Enjoy your Friday everyone:)0 -
Morning N9EAV, HARDUPHESTER, HIGH PEAK LASS and REDRUBY and all who follow or sneak in when I'm not looking.
N9EAV - yes, I've noticed the rising prices. We'll need all our OS skills now, won't we? I have to get petrol today; I've been putting it off but I think I'm driving on the fumes now so I'll have to get some.
I pm'd AMIE yesterday and she pm'd me back to send everyone her love; she's had a bad week but is going shopping with a friend today, which I'm sure will help. She'll post again over the weekend.
Well, DH left at 6.40 - with a lunchbox packed with HM goodies including the very successful soft bread rolls I made yesterday and some cake. The rolls turned out really well - I had to adjust the recipe because it said to use a whole packet of yeast which just didn't sound right; I used 1.5tsps and it worked very well. I've been lazy with the BM, just making the usual wholemeal/white loaf that we like, but I want to be a bit more ambitious with it now.
WM is on and I've cleaned upstairs. Just need to dust and hoover downstairs, put the ironing board up, just in case I get inspired to use it, and, once I've cleared away the breakfast things, I shall write out my shopping list and hit the supermarket early.
Dinner will be sausage casserole followed by rice pud (for DH - I can't bear it), then an evening knitting. I must get some presents finished. My mum is here for Christmas and I want to make some silly little bits and pieces for her Christmas stocking. She stayed last year and we crammed a stocking full of pressies and sneaked in to put it on her bed and she was so thrilled to see it, it made her cry! She said she couldn't remember the last time she had one.
Well, must go and get a wiggle on. I intend to get loads done today. Had another early night and a good night's sleep which means I won't need an after-lunch nap (hopefully) so I'll have more time. While I was ill, I was sleeping for a couple of hours an afternoon and finding it hard to get motivated afterwards. Now the cold has finally gone, I feel much more industrious.
(((Hugs))) to all who need them and hope everyone has a good day. Glad it's Friday, though, my DH has been working up ladders outside all week and deserves a rest and maybe a bottle of the falling-down stuff!
See you later.
