LED sidelights

The bulbs are under the boot handle and point downwards. They do not point ahead in your eyes unlike like badly fitted/adjusted headlights.
I've been behind many cars with retro fitted LED number plate bulbs and have never been blinded by them. Also most new cars come with LED bulbs fitted so do they automatically blind everyone? No they don't.0 -
So, you stand behind your 12-y-o Skoda and worry about the quality of the light on the number plate.Retrogamer wrote: »I run LED number plate bulbs as well and it's a 12 year old Fabia vRS.
They're not really much brighter than the standard ones but the main reason i wanted them was the same reason i went for LED sidelights and the Xenon headlights. I find the yellowish colour from the standard bulbs fine, but quite old and aged looking.
The whiter output from the LEDs makes things little a little more modern and cleaner they but certainly don't blind or dazzle anyone.
I’m not sure you’ve got the point of “Money Saving”. Or perhaps of life...0 -
They typically emit 10x as much light. <points up to linked specs>sevenhills wrote: »He might not notice much difference, it depends if he has swapped a LED for ordinary or placed the whole unit.
Not the whole unit. Just some cheap "festoon" type LEDs that are inside a glass tube so the light output pattern is similar to the festoon standard ones. They are brighter but still not as bright as the standard LEDs you see on some standard but more modern cars.

Well one of the conventional ones failed and i decided to replace them with some cheap LED ones approx 3 years ago and neither of them have failed. If i remember i think the pair delivered were about £3.50
But please continue to try to be insulting if it makes you happy, i really don't mind. All your base are belong to us.0 -

I money save in some areas which enables me to spend money in other areas. This is Money Saving Expert not No Money Spending Expert. With the intention of illuminating a plate that's designed to be highly reflective, and is angled straight towards drivers behind.
So why do new cars come with them as standard?0 -
That’s some paranoia you have there. You are the only one insulting people, By the way, I’m just amused that you’d boast about tarting up a car like yours, and doing it in such a selfish way.Deleted_User wrote: »Why is it a turd in glitter? Just because it's 10 years old you're not allowed to look after a car? It's also in good condition and has never let me down.
They don't blind anyone. Oh and did you just join these forums to take a pop at me Mr Farmer? You moron.
This forum still amazes me at the amount of bullies and creepy stalkers there are.0 -

Do you smoke? Do you drink? Play the lotto in any form? Go on any holidays?
Maybe you don't but i'd be surprised if all those doing the preaching didn't do at least one of those. Take the drinking & smoking for example - i don't do either so i can afford to spend in other areas. To me those who splash out on cigarettes and bottles of wine are wasting money but then maybe they don't spend money in areas i do so they can afford to spend it where they wish.
Ahh yes, the point of life ... to not have LED plate lights :rotfl::rotfl:
This whole argument just screams to me a bunch of drama queens. People who have taken a dislike to something & then blow it all out of proportion.
I've been behind cars that have LED bulbs for the plates that i think are quite dim & then i've been behind cars that i think the bulbs are actually quite bright, but not once have i ever been behind a car with LED bulbs that "blind" me. Seriously, talk about exaggeration.
If they're blinding you then i question how close you are!!
Makes me think of those types who when you're looking to make a right turn for example, you see a car in the distance & you're sure you can make the turn safely, but then they clearly just don't want to let you turn before they pass so they floor it. They're still a good distance off so you make the turn.
A few seconds later they finally pass the junction you turned off & then they honk their horn at you because you 'cut across them'. No, they were just awkward fools who wanted to get a buzz out of stopping you & they failed & now they're mad.
Is that you? :rotfl:0 -
