LED sidelights

With my Honda the dash lights are on all the time, if you turn the lights on they dim.
With my old Volvo I just left the lights on all the time as the daytime lights were just the normal lights, front & back, except main beam wouldn't work.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
I know not all cars are the same. My wife's car her dash lights are on regardless of whether her headlights are on. My dash lights only turn on if i turn the headlights on.EssexExile wrote: »With my Honda the dash lights are on all the time, if you turn the lights on they dim.

Likewise i've seen cars around with just the daytime lights on up front and the rear lights have been on but like i've just said i've also seen those with the daytime lights on up front and no rear lights. I guess it depends on the model of the vehicle.
I just think that since everything is so safety conscious these days then would it not make sense to have the rear lights on if the front lights are on? Would it not make sense for the dash lights to only come on if the headlights are on - because how many times have we set off in a well lit area but in the dark only to realise we forgot to put our lights on at all, or only our side lights are on when dipped should really be on also? I know i've been guilty of that in the past. Then i look down at my dash and see my lights aren't on & think ah i better turn my headlights on. Had i had a car like my wife's then i'd probably carry on driving around with no lights on until a few cars flashed me.0 -
Yeah whinging on about side lights when every car made in the last 8 years or so has those stupid daytime running lights.

...and if that's your 207 in the pic, then a look at your MOT history shows that your priorities are all to !!!! if you're worrying about your numberplate lights ahead of fixing the back brakes and having matching, correctly fitted, non-bald tyres...0 -

Obviously your crystal ball is malfunctioning. Rear tyres were replaced at the last MOT hence the pass. The front tyres were replaced in May using RAC/ASDA Tyres which I posted about the saga on here. The incorrectly fitted tyre was due to the RAC Tyres place swapping the front and rear tyres round and putting them on the wrong side.
The incorrectly tyre only needed to be swapped to the other side and it would have passed with an advisory. Along with the other rear tyre that was only worn on the edges and still perfectly legal. Just like side lights. But being the good motorist I am I had the rear tyres replaced anyway.
Oh and looking up my MOT history to see if you can get any dirt on me...

I'm afraid if you don't want people to do that then you shouldn't come to this forum because sadly that's how certain members on this board operate.Deleted_User wrote: »

Sometimes drafting a post and then thinking better of posting it is a good idea

Watch it - their next trick is when you're posting, they've already gone through all your previous threads & they'll pull a quote off you from about 5 years ago from some other section of the forum, trying to link it to what you're talking about today.Deleted_User wrote: »He probably checked the MID too.
Been there, suffered that. :rotfl:
It's quite sad really the lengths some members of this message board go to in order to score points and get a few 'thanks' clicks. :rotfl:0
