  • Is it too late to join? Newly signed up to MSE to join this thread but I’ve been reading it for years. Finally got a grip on my finances over the last couple of months using YNAB and now I feel ready to save (and pay off debt, which is what I might ultimately use my savings for!)

My target is £13k for the rest of this year - I know it’s ambitious but I know that I can spend so much less than I do.

    #2 reporting £1837.04 for March.
We've been abroad on holiday for half of March, which could have been expensive but made more manageable by going self-catering and staying in a cheap apartment. We've also put OH's car through its MOT so there were a few faults that needed fixing. And now my car has a problem with the brakes, so that's going to be another cost I think.

Anyway, that's a quarter of the year gone already! Great to see so many people doing so well with their savings.

Just filled in the form with my March total of £600. Another good month here, helped by a council tax free month.
Total so far this year £1450/£4000.

    Thanks in advance for updating.

#77 reporting savings of £533.35 for March. Down a little on what I had done in January and February but considerably more than I expected.
April should see a little more squeezed into savings as my pay rise takes effect.

  • #46 declaring £225 for March. Not as much as I would have liked but focussing on the total savings amount is motivating.

#153 reporting £2,681.1 for February and £4,181.97 for March!

This puts my total for the year so far at £9,185.47. I have updated the forms. March was a good month, getting a bonus paid and selling a few items on eBay. A generous rise in pay to start in April which might hopefully see the savings go up by a few quid (i.e. if another part of the budget doesn't call for it lol). First quarter down, 2nd quarter is here!!. Lets do this guys!!::beer:

  • #47 Reporting in for March, its been another great month managed to save £2003.34 which puts me at just over 40% of the way towards my target. After 3 good months, things are now going to change, as this morning I've submitted an offer for a house, which is terrifying I'm on tender-hooks waiting for the call back ...eek.

Well done everyone, we're a third of the way through the year lets keep it going.

  • Another sad savings month here at knitting towers. I have some big expenses due in the next three months that will be reimbursed, but not for a month or three after I pay out, so I am having to keep my instant savings balance high and cannot save anything into long term just yet. Come June/July I should be able to put the deferred money into the proper savings account, but for March the only saved money is the interest earned. <sigh>

#166 reporting for march. Overall a great month for me, saved £2406. Although I know the final electricity bill (which is now out) will be collected in April and will put a HUGE dent in my savings next month. Combine that with a hefty council tax and I wonder if I will be able to meet the target next month - let's see.
