Well surely there has to be a 'right' here and with you guys sitting on opposite sides of the fence it'll be interesting to see who actually IS right. The fact i'm even here means i don't know so i'm not going to say either way, i just want to be able to help my relative get their item.
So buglawton, you're saying claim (now) through PayPal?
Oh and yes PayPal was the payment method. Is there another on eBay other than pay on collection?0 -
You didn't take the trouble to listen to the item I linked or did you?
Even basic proof of tracking may not be enough. Seller has to jump through hoops even when some proof of dispatch and delivery like the tracking trail OP posted was provided. OP will find out soon enough if their relative simply puts a refund claim in with Paypal (though OP hasn't confirmed that was the payment method).
My overseas internet is not good enough for videos, but then I prefer to go to PayPal and understand their rules rather than rely on stories from a third party.
PayPal require sellers to have online delivery conformation to the address given by them, and to show item was sent within 7 days of payment. That has not changed at all.
It is always worth trying PayPal for a refund, they occasionally do no fault refunds , but using their criteria alone if seller has proof of delivery the claim will fail.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Have you passed on the suggestion about using social media to get the couriers attention? Also speak to PayPal explain what has happened and see if they can be persuaded into a no fault refund- it's a long shot but worth spending a bit of time on the phone.
As for other payment methods, PayPal from a buyers point is safer and whilst sellers can offer alternatives like Bank transfer they are not recommended.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Since Paypal split from eBay, PayPal's refund rules changed.
.....[snip] super protection for buyers.
Super protection?Basically a buyer can claim non-delivery even 5 months after a purchase on eBay or a forum.
A buyer cannot claim non-delivery "even 5 months after a purchase on eBay or a forum" the latest a buyer can claim non delivery on eBay is 30 days from latest/actual delivery. Where did you get 5 months from?
And what do you mean by "a forum"?When a seller appeals against such a late refund claim all Paypal system will do is check that online tracking and decide in favour of the buyer. The seller has to constantly chase Paypal on the phone.
I'm stuck on this one. What are you saying? If the tracking shows as delivered (adhering to seller protection) the seller will win.....or is that what you mean?I hope that's enough detail about extreme tracking - that favours the buyer - that may be needed for you.
Extreme tracking?0 -

And what evidence could the buyer possibly have? They've ordered an item, an item hasn't arrived yet courier says it has. How could they possibly prove it hasn't?
The point is, you cannot appeal an INR decision unless you had the INR open in the first place. I was highlighting that you will lose the INR, but will win a refund on appeal. That whole point seems to have eluded you.
Your posts are tiresome. This whole board seems to have become about you and your issues....I suggest you do a little reading, learn a lot and then perhaps post the outcome on a single thread.0 -

Then got to the second half and was like, is this REALLY necessary?
No.
If you could do the helpful thing without the attitude then you'd be great0 -

Maybe if you could do the questions without the drama....
But yes I've answered many a thread in the years I've been here and none have been quite so tiresome and repetitive.0 -

I'm sure there's plenty others who feel that there's 'drama' but find it within themselves to help without the attitude. Soolin does a great job. He/she may think what a clown this guy is but so far they've kept their opinion to themselves and dealt with just facts.
If you can't manage that then don't trouble yourself.0 -
Though if you want drama then i've literally just had an auction end, great correspondence with someone who lives just up the road really, only for someone else to come and snipe in the dying seconds on a collection only item which also stated in the listing that it was collection only from post codes XX# or YY# and also the listing requested that any questions be asked in advance as i wont necessarily be on my PC in the closing hours of the auction (was a 7 day listing).
only for me to then get the message after they won .... "can you post please".
No.
Now when would you like to make the 4.5 hour drive for this item0
