Could someone please clarify, do I have 28 days from when I received the claim form to defend or 28 days from when I acknowledge the service??

    Please re-read post #39 above.

I had hoped the answer to your question was clearly spelled out there.

But no need to take my word for it, read the Money Claim Online (MCOL) - User Guide.
  • I did re read your post but I was confused with different issues of issue date and date of service. I find it odd how obtuse you’ve been in your reply though, you shouldn’t be taking it personally that I asked for clarification.

Date of issue and date of service are different dates, and neither have anything to do with the date you acknowledge

I am now aware of this. Got to sort my defence before Friday of next week.

    Hi.

So I filed my defence in time. Received a letter the other day to day the claim is now defended and a mediation questionnaire attached.

Then today I receive a 'notice of recovery' direct from VCS saying that they have been awarded a CCJ against me and that I must pay within 7 days! I am very confused. Can anyone help please?

Does your MCOL case history show that your Defence was received before Monday 18th March 2019?

You filed your defence in time - did you check on MCOL that it was received? Did you then receive a DQ? Was the case allocated to your local court (assuming you received and completed a DQ but seems a bit quick for all that to happen). What date was given for the court case? Have you received anything from the court because it is they who should tell you to pay, not VCS.

they seem to premarurely send this out and yet when people ring the CCBC its clear its bogus and the claim is defended as you say

you can ignore that VCS bumff letter , and wait for your DQ from the CCBC

if in any doubt about this , phone the CCBC who will tell you what I just said, that this VCS letter is a sham and lies

I received a DQ on the 18th March which says I have until 4thApril to respond. This letter is from Northampton County Court business centre and stamped as such.

I have received no date for the case yet. Is this just one last dirty ploy from VCS??
