House not getting viewings!

Some people will have alerts set up on Rightmove etc, will get a message saying a house of the type/area they're interested in is for sale, and may be interested enough to look at the listing. But they'll know it's a quiet time of year to sell so even if they like the look of your house they may not think it's worthwhile even viewing as they don't expect to be able to sell their house now.
Most people won't even be considering moving in the next three months and won't even be browsing the listings at the moment.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Not the best time of the year but buyers are out there.
I have just accepted an offer after 8 days. I made sure I asked a fair price. Had 16 viewings (3 second viewings) in the first 5 days. The first person that viewed ended up getting it (fingers crossed).0 -
I am looking for a house, but I have one to sell .... so I've made no appointments to view until I've got somebody offering on mine.
Your house could be on my list, it could be HIGH on my list, but until I get an offer I'm not picking up the phone to make a viewing.
The market is slow at the moment - when it's slow, some people, like me, leave it to the last minute.
Some people find the house they want, then try to sell theirs.
Some people get an offer first, then look around.
I am waiting before I look around ....0 -
Timing - 3 weeks before Christmas, people are buying turkeys not houses
Price - clearly not attractive enough
Economy/politics - I withdnt buy a house at the moment
One week is nothing! A house is a major investment no one is going to hurry up just because you want them to

I'm looking to buy a house but unless the perfect house came up before Xmas I really can't be bothered until January. Also, I'm assuming a lot of sellers are waiting until after Xmas.
So maybe a lot of buyers are like me and just waiting.
Other reasons would be over priced or in a terrible area.
I've seen a house that's what I'm after for a great price but the positioning of it isn't great so I'm not even going to consider it, even if they dropped the price dramatically.0 -
One estate agent told me, not how true it is, but after Xmas is their busiest time of year. So it might pick up. It would help putting a link on here for honest feedback. I have had people say something and then showed me property on right move and you can tell straightway why it hasn't sold. It's usually decor, the pictures, layout etc.
It is uncertain times at the moment so be prepared for a scary few months in 20190 -
Hi there, our house has been on the market for just over a week and we have had no viewings! We understand that this isn’t the best time to put our house on the market, however we have our eyes on a new build as we have a baby on the way and need a bigger house. We can’t reserve the new build until we have an offer on our house!
I was expecting a lot of viewings In The first week as the house is fairly priced considering the condition and other comparable properties in the area! My concern is that the estate agent isn’t letting me know of potential buyers.
Does anyone have any advice? I feel as though if I was to call the agents every day that would annoy them and therefore they may try even less to find a buyer!
That would make sense, an estate agent that doesn't like selling houses /s
How about two factors instead
1. Almost no one is looking at houses now just before Xmas, this is a renowned dead time for selling houses
2. Brexit has turned that up to 11 ... or is it down to minus 1 ?
It may even be well priced for all I know but no one is looking right now.
If you get nothing after Xmas, then you can start to conclude it's too expensive.
But that's a two way street, what you are looking to buy will be the same , you should be able to get some deals out of housebuilders.0 -
I think it’s worth noting that it’s only been a week. Take average sale times for online places and it’s 20 days.
I wouldn’t start panicking yet thinking it’s overpriced when you’ve only had it on a week. Like most are saying, it’s probably just the time of year.0 -

After this Christmas will be the quietest time in many years IMO.0
