Working Hard Debt Diary - Here goes

I'm with you on the hawkish front Lucielle....its a case of juggling everything to make sure it all comes through correctly.
I've paid £25 in the debt fund today, £28 was already in there and £50 from paypal means that I've made the £100 required for the school trips. It will take a few days for everything to transfer but at least that money is covered. Next month i'll only have one installment to find since I've budgeted for the other one. I've just had a conversation with my Mum about the cost of trips and her view was why are we letting her go on expensive trips...my view is that is what we are working for, to give them the opportunities, and therefore as long as we can afford it - she has no idea of how much debt we have....if she did......!
Some ebay wrapping to do now, and some photographing - the joys!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I gained another £12 from selling a handbag in a second hand shop in town. I don't want to think about how much is cost me but I wasn't using it and I'd tried selling it a couple of times on ebay with no luck so its money in my pocket!
I was sitting at the swimming pool with the DS's tonight thinking about Lucielle's reference to my debt now being an icecube rather than an iceberg. It does still feel massive to me, even coming down from £52k, so I think the comparison is more like a large freezer - sorry i can't think of a better analogy...
When I got back from town today I found that the DOG had decided to chew part of the window sill in the conservatory so not only has he ruined 2 sofa's but now the actual building     . He is banished to outside until I calm down with him.
So the result is:- The dog is in the dog house and I'm not walking him which isn't helping my weight loss programme!
- I'm fed up since my target of having a dog free refurbished conservatory (all bought and paid for of course) in the new year feels like its gone out of the window - what is the point:rolleyes:
- My OH is fed up since he wants to change his car and can't for the moment as credit/loans have dried up. As anyone who has read my thread will know my OH has a car thing and has been going on about changing his car for the past six months. I finally agreed that he could do it after Christmas as long as the loan repayments on the new one remain the same. After a few enquries he has realised its not going to happen because of the CC (:T from me). He is therefore fed up
- Added to this we both feel like we've no money - of course we have but we paying off at debts to the tune of £1600 pm:o
- Added to this we're not going out too much to save pennies and we both working hard
So I've offloaded (sorry guys) and now I intend to press on getting stuff listed on ebay this evening - I think Ill pass walking the hound tonight!?!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I find being in debt seems to consume your every waking thought (it does me any way) Constantly trying to think up new ways to shift it and make it go less. Hope you feel brighter tomorrow.

Thanks Lucielle it certianly does.
I am sure I will feel more positive tomorrow, in fact I actually feel a little more positive already.
I decided to set myself a target of finding the extra £331 needed to make us under £30k by the end of the year. I'm working 3 extra days this month, which will be paid in December, and I worked 2 extra last month which I will get at the end of this month. That should cover it but I need to cover DD's school trip ( ) money next month £60. So I need to get listing on good old ebay tonight......how does the saying go...procrastination is the thief of time....does checking the boards before listing count........I think so!!
I've also got a little niggle that I've not budgeted for childcare costs correctly for next year so I need to check that one out.
Again you are so right it does consume every waking moment.....almostWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

Hello WH and Lucielle!
Very impressed with both your efforts. Just wanted to say I sympathise with the school trip thing.
I have 3 kids and 2 are only 1 school year apart.
The adventure holiday to Wales that DS did for £165 last year has been booked for DD this year at £210 with no apology or explanation. Then DS in his final year has a York trip for £170, and just as I'm working that into my consciousness, DD eldest is invited on a senior school trip to London for £170 and they want payment inside of two weeks!
It's never-ending - I so understand!

Its that balance between wanting them to have the opportunities and being able to find the money. I've only really got one of mine into the 'bigger trips' at present. What it will be like when they are in the trip system I dread to think. However being positive I will be DF by then - LOLWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0

Wow that is Fab. I've just listed about 10 items but I will be lucky if I get £50 let alone £200 well done you.
The Mutt is 1 so I guess he's got a little while to go before he outgrows this behaviour.Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0
