I've just completed one of the tasks on my list putting all the receipts into my spending diary. As a result lots of money needs moving around (a pain to do) but a system which works for me!
I've just made all this months payments to the CC's which is good since the balances are slowly reducing. This is a really frustrating time though since we are not making big inroads into the debt.
Sorry if I bore people here but .....we've got 5 CC's, and 2 loans!, and we have a target one which gets the most we can afford paid off it whilst the others have the minimum paid. I found it quite depressing this am looking at some of our cards lower down the list which are only effectively reducing by £80/£90 per month. One of our cards IF is on a particularly nasty rate of interest 16%.
The plan is to clear one card, MBNA, balance currently £1300 by Christmas if not before and then all the Debt busting gets thrown at the IF card. Due to increased income and reduced outgoings we should be able pay £1k off it a month from Jan which will be fantastic. Equally when the MBNA card is clear I will have the opportunity to BT some of the heafty IF card to it. Its a complicated puzzle which will work out:D
The difficult time is between now and then. I'm building up my pot of money to clear the Cahoot loan in December which is good. However I find it hard to have £500 sitting there when I could be paying it off a card. I always knew that this period to the end of the year was going to be hard:D and it is.Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

hey working hard i really admire how far you have come, it is hard when you look at the cards lower down the list and dont see much movement some days it can be soul destroying even push people for a quick fix, im trying to keep my head above water i feel like im doingvery little for the dfw journey and it scares me, we are in our first property no kids only pets and we are having to debt bust at such a young age im frightened i wont find the light at the end of the tunnel and il never be able to move omg im getting overworked i shall stop, just guess i feel low :(xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Thanks Happytogetdebtfree you have to stick with it.
I know you are young and starting out but getting DF now and learning the lessons that some of us have learned a little later on will be invaluable. Its not just about the debt busting, although that is so motivational, its about living within your means, making the right choices and setting yourselves up for a stable future.
This time of year doesn't help much does it. Winter is coming, fuel bills increasing, Christmas approaching (an excess of spending), dark nights however by the end of the year you'll have less debt than you started with and will be much nearer your DFD.
Keep smiling:DWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

Positive week which is always good.
Got paid today so I've updated my totals to be sub £35K now which is fantastic- even if I say so myself.
Got some arrears of pay and the small bit of tax back which resulted in £200 being transferred to the loan clearing fund. This now stands at £600 with £800 extra earnings & £500 childcare pending. This means that I will when all monies are in have enought to settle the loan in December and hopefully clear the MBNA card by the end of the year as well.
Two of my ebay things have sold which is good although none of the higher value items but fingers crossed they've a few days to go yet.
Picked up a mystery shop for next week so thats another plus.
I've got my tax return sorted and just need to find an evening to log on and enter the figures but I'm chuffed that I got it done.
On the negative:- I've not listed anything new on ebay this week. I've not been able to get near the PC and have the time. Feeble excuse I know
- We've overspent on the petrol this month mainly due to two trips down south to visit my new nephew and niece. So although expensive (my car seems to drink fuel) it was well worth it
- We've overspent on the food budget this month as well. Again due in part to two hectic weekends and lack of planning.
:T
Here's to a relatively quiet and chilled weekendWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 - I've not listed anything new on ebay this week. Just moved another £50 from paypal over to the loan busting fund and with some MS'ing money coming it the fund now stands at £690:j .
I'm going top get a few more things listed on ebay today if I can. I've relisted a few but I really need some new stuff going on there.
Got a MS to do today.
Aiming to get my tax return done today and an online Tesco shop - the food situation is dire today:o
