Yes we also promised to put money back in their savings account, they are still waiting. I think cashing the bonds is what saved our bacon whilst all other measures were being put in place. They were 7k and the rest has been done through belt tightening, credit cards banned and the 'no' word again.

I seem to have spent loads of money this past few days getting ready for the summer holidays. Its a bit like Christmas in that you get so used to only spending when you really have to that suddenly spending feels alien.

Had an unexpected day off today so I've caught up on a few jobs. Youngest DS got accidentially bashed with a cricket bat by older DS so a trip to casualty resulted. He's OK no permanent damage done. It was good to be able to catch up on a few little jobs. I've got a day off next week as well so hopefully before the kids break up I'll be well in control of things.:D

I've not done much on the DFW front this week. I've still got some O/S ebay bits to come through but I feel significantly short of the £10 per day challenge :o . I think I need another source of revenue. I'm still ebaying but I need to do something else. Initial thoughts were that over the summer hols I would:
    • Try selling books on amazon (already done Green Metropolis and ebay and will continue too)
    • Try getting rid of some CD's/DVD's via play.com
    • Try matched betting
I've realised that I need the challenge of a shorter term goal to keep me on track.

My CC's are now fairly static:

    3 @ £5k a piece
    1 @ £9k a piece
    1 @ £890
2 loans Grand Total of £37,485

As you can see none of the CC's apart from one are easy hits. So I guess my mini target is to:

Pay off the MBNA Card balance £890 by the end of the childrens school holidays which is the 28/8/08.

Given that there is 2 paydays before that date I should wipe £600 off that wtih that leaving me an extra £290 to find over the 7 weeks. Not quite as hard as the £10pd challenge but good to acheive. Here goes.....:D

Good luck with that. I have an item on ebay at the moment which is proving difficult to shift. I have decided to drop the starting price to 99p in the hope that will make it go. My oh has had a go at mb it is way above my little brain cell.

I've got five items on ebay at present which are proving tricky to move - not sure why - but on checking one of them has just sold for ........£0.99!!:T Never one to mock the pounds rolling in since it all helps.

Matched betting I've briefly looked at before but to be honest the sheer effort its taken to get us to here and to keep the family ticking over and to keep work on track has been more than enough. I think perhaps that as we approach our 1st anniversary of our LBM with a sucessful year behind us I need to up the anty (spelling?) and I think having a go at matched betting may be the answer. So over the hols I will do the reseach and read the long and detailed posts on the subjects and see how I get on.

I do mystery shopping but I generally only seem to get one per month (£10 per time) which is OK but not great.

Thanks for the post hypno06. Yeap the ebay money has paid up and I've just transferred £50 from paypal to the debt busting account to pay off the target CC. Always a nice feeling!!

    How about you?

Well, I am just having a bit of a "brainstorm" about how I can cut back on my costs - I did my SOA and went through it with Pania this morning, but really can't see anything else that we can cut back on.....

.....so in order to achieve the seemingly impossible, ie pay off this bloody debt, I think we have to achieve the similarly seemingly impossible, ie to spend even less and make our money go even further.....

....as a result I have been reading through OS threads and will be venturing to the freebies board and the competitions board again.

Short of someone "giving" me £50,000, I can't see anything else I can do!!!!

Oh life is great sometimes, isn't it :rotfl:
