Working Hard Debt Diary - Here goes

I am completely understanding the lack of motivation now that the pressure is off........I am struggling to pay more than my minimums now, which is daft - my minimums now are about £400 pm when 3 years ago they were £2200 a month - so in theory I should still be able to pay £2200 a month off the debt (which is what my snowball is set at) but the reality of life is that motivation lacks for varying reasons, and I am not even paying half that!!
You are almost there, though - you have done fantastically well!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hey, wow hypno you have done some huge cuts to get to 400 a month, you spend what you earn and its hard to commit loose cash to debt when its so close to the end, i wish i was there but things my side are finally starting to look great

It has been hard work, but lethargy sets in and we take our foot off the gas a bit........that is the dangerous point because if we take our eye off the ball, we can find ourself back at square one before we know it!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thanks for the posts ladies
I think you do 'grow' into being DF and like you H our min payments when we started were nearlt £1k pm now they are about £100pm so the different goes off the debt. We're on track and not racking up debt which is the most important thing. Lessons have well and truely been learnt in the DFW house is all I can say...Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I guess that's true, and also you shift your focus - eg the MFiT challenge, which a few years ago would have been a ridiculous concept for us.....now it is just "the next step".......
One thing is for sure - I ain't ever going "back there" again! Not if I can help it, anyway!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Christmas has arrived in the DFW household.
Not only did OH get his unexpected bonus this month £362 after tax very nice - thank you very much  but something completely and utterly lovely happened to us today....
We got a letter from our Water Authority telling us that for the last nine years (since we've lived in this house) they have been over charging us for surface water charges due to confusion as we border another authority who have also been charging us!!!! As I read it I thought we owed them until I read it again....how blinking lovely....things like this don't happen to us. The grand sum of £688.93 will be in our bank in 14 days:D:D.
Plus payday for us both this week so I've now paid the credit cards and have updated my totals....blimey is scary now being so close...£3,138Totals haven't reduced quite as much as I would have wanted but I've absorbed the £200 food shop into this and the spending on the bathroom bits and bobs which my Mum is going to give us for Xmas. I don't want to be running up billshence I'm keen to say on budget.
