The Lenovo 320s i linked to for £279.99 has a significantly faster processor, but otherwise is similar spec (4GB / 128GB SSD)

That v110 is a physically bigger laptop with a bigger screen which may swing it in its favour if thats what the O/P is looking for.0 -

how about 2nd hand for £139.99? Possibly beats that asus hands down on everything, and is a quality build.

Though personally i'd be going for a business quality refurb machine at that pricepoint.
Lenovo Thinkpad T450 8GB, 240GB SSD Win 10.... £284.99 delivered.

That's what I was thinking as well looking at the spec for the new budget laptops is extremely poor and the laptops can be difficult to repair. Business-class machines are built better and usually much more repairable as well plus many big businesses will buy this type of machine in cheap and replace them all at three to four years old even if they're working fine.
I should have a newer laptop at work but still using an old Lenovo X230 which I've had since it was released and it's had very heavy use but aside from the battery being a bit crap these days, it still works great.0 -
Sorry I had a bad experience on eBay there is no chance I’m ordering off there whether it’s new or used, no chance!
The curry’s one that got linked is 499.99 that’s not within budget.
So even though this one I’m linking has more RAM and storage I’m better getting the ebuyer one linked just for the fact it’s SSD but less RAM and storage?

The Argos one you link to has a turd screen :- "Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels. "
It really will look bad to todays standards
You have to realise you are in a tech sub forum here .. No one worth their salt is going to advise you buy one of those rubbish sub £300 machines from Currys etc ..
They are toys , not computers0 -
I understand that but my question just constantly gets ignored.
I don’t need a lecture on the technical bits as I have no clue what your talking about.
I asked if the Argos one would allow me to do what I use a laptop for then get given all this technical stuff I don’t understand do everyone confuses me.
Totally understand this value for money and trying to help me get the best but no one has given me a straight answer to my question.
All I wanted to know is would the Argos one allow me to do the simple tasks I want.0 -

Yes it would - with the caveat is that it will be frustratingly slow to use and the screen will look "fuzzy"0 -
eBay is fine provided you are dealing with a reputable company. I got a Dell from IT-zone-1 on eBay, it was well packed and arrived next day.
They currently have a Lenovo Thinkpad SSD, see item 2025191600180
